The masses of the 2 most common isotopes of Cl are 35 and 37. Therefore we can formulate 3 possible masses of Cl2:

<span>
35 + 35 = 70
35 + 37 = 72
37 + 37 = 74

<span>However, Cl 35 is the most common isotope of chlorine of the two therefore it is the most probable that two Cl 35 atoms will combine, so 70 is the most common among all.

Answer:

all the possible masses of Cl_{2} molecules that are made when two chlorine atoms bond together are 70,72 and 74

Explanation:

Chlorine (Cl) has two most common known isotopes these are as follows

Cl-35 and and Cl-37. It means Cl has two possible masses these are 35 and 37.

all the possible masses of Cl_{2} molecules that are made when two chlorine atoms bond together are as follows

it is possible that both the atom in Cl_{2} are  Cl-35 then atomic mass of  Cl_{2}  will be

35 + 35 = 70

it is possible that both the atom in Cl_{2} are  Cl-37 then atomic mass of  Cl_{2}  will be

37 + 37 = 74

it is possible that  Cl_{2} is formed when  Cl-37 and Cl-35 are bond together, then atomic mass of  Cl_{2}  will be

35 + 37 = 72

Boron occurs naturally as two isotopes. What is the difference between these isotopes?
Murrr4er [49]

Answer:

Number of neutrons and stability

Explanation:

An isotope of an element is basically the same element but with different number of neutrons. For example here, boron can exist in the forms of boron-10 and boron-11, and so the latter would have one more neutron than the former one.

Adding an extra neutron may or may not disrupt the strong force that much, and so the half-life and stability of the new isotope can be slightly different than its most stable one.
