Find “n" (the number of the term in the sequence)

Mathematics
1 answer:
makkiz [27]3 years ago
7 0

Answer:

n = 200

Step-by-step explanation:

The n th term of an arithmetic sequence is

a_{n} = a₁ + (n - 1)d

where a₁ is the first term and d the common difference

Here a₁ = 6 and d = 9, thus

a_{n} = 6 + 9(n - 1) = 6 + 9n - 9 = 9n - 3

Now a_{n} = 1797, so

9n - 3 = 1797 ( add 3 to both sides )

9n = 1800 ( divide both sides by 9 )

n = 200
