Answer:

The total number of seashells in Sally’s collection after 5 weeks is 225 and an expression to represent the total number of seashells in Sally’s  collection after w weeks is  y = 100+25w

Step-by-step explanation:

Sally has seashells currently = 100

From today , she will collect 25 seashells each week.

Let w be the no. of weeks

So, she will collect seashells in w weeks = 25w

So, total seashells after w weeks = 100+25w

Let y denotes total seashells after w weeks

So, y = 100+25w

Substitute w = 5

y = 100+25(5)

y = 225

Hence the total number of seashells in Sally’s collection after 5 weeks is 225 and an expression to represent the total number of seashells in Sally’s  collection after w weeks is  y = 100+25w

Ok so sally has 100 seashells to start with. Now every week she is going to collect 25 seashells each week and we want to work out how many seashells she has over 5 weeks
So...
1 week-25 seashells
5 weeks-125 seashells
So that’s 5x25 which=125
But she already has 100 seashells to start with so you need to add them on so
125+100=225 seashells after 5 weeks

Answer:225 seashells after 5 weeks

Given that f(x) = 2x −5, find the value of x that makes f(x) = 15.
svp [43]
F(x)  = 2 x - 5

15 = 2 x - 5

2 x - 5 = 15

2 x = 15 + 5

2 x = 20

x = 20 / 2

x = 10

hope this helps!

Question 9 (1 point)
Likurg_2 [28]

Answer:

A piece of Jewelry costs $4.5 and a hair accessory costs $1.5.

Step-by-step explanation:

Let the price of a piece of jewelry is $x and that of a piece of hair accessories is $y.

So, from the given conditions we can write two different equations as

5x + 8y = 34.5 ............ (1) and

2x + 16y = 33 ............... (2)

Now, solving the equations (1) and (2) we get

2x + 2(34.5 - 5x) = 33

⇒ 8x = 36

⇒ x = $4.5

Again, from the equation (2) we can write

2(4.5) + 16y = 33

⇒ 16y = 24

⇒ y = $1.5

Therefore, a piece of Jewelry costs $4.5 and a hair accessory costs $1.5. (Answer)
