There is only one significant figure in 100. Remember the three rules that make a number significant:
1. Non-zero digits are ALWAYS significant
2. Any zeros between two SIGNIFICANT digits are significant as well.
3. A final zero or trailing zeros in the DECIMAL portion ONLY are significant.

There is one significant figure as a significant figure is any number other than 0

if it was 120 then it would be 2

If 25.0 g NO are produced, how many grams of nitrogen gas are used?
ivanzaharov [21]

Based on the assumption that the reaction involves N and O to produce NO, if 25.0 g of NO are produced, the amount of N gas used would be 11.66 grams

<h3>Stoichiometric calculation</h3>

From the equation of the reaction:

       N + O ---------> NO

Mole ratio of N to NO is 1:1

Mole of 25.0 g of NO = 25/30.01 = 0.833 moles

Equivalent mole of N = 0.833 moles

Mass of 0.833 moles N = 0.833 x 14 = 11.66 grams

VMariaS [17]

When using ion-selective electrodes, to compensate for a complex or unknown matrix, the  standard addition method can be used to determine the analyte concentration. Option D

<h3>What are  ion-selective electrodes?</h3>

Analytical chemistry is a science that deal with the measurement and detection of the accurate amount of a substance. Analytical chemistry plays a large role in environmental management as it helps in the determination of the levels of contaminants in a sample.

An ion selective electrode is used in analytical chemistry to measure the amount of a target ion by converting its activity into a measurable electrical signal.

Hence, when using ion-selective electrodes, to compensate for a complex or unknown matrix, the  standard addition method can be used to determine the analyte concentration.

The balanced chemical equation for the combustion of butane is: 2C2H2 + 5O2 CO2 + 2H2O 2CH4 + 5O2 2CO2 + 4H2O 2C4H10 + 13O2 8CO2
SCORPION-xisa [38]
Butane is C₄H₁₀.

C_4H_{10} + O_2 \to CO_2 + H_2O \\ \\&#10;\hbox{balance carbon and hydrogen on the right-hand side:} \\&#10;C_4 H_{10} + O_2 \to 4 \ CO_2 + 5 \ H_2O \\ \\&#10;\hbox{balance oxygen on the left-hand side:} \\&#10;C_4 H_{10} + \frac{13}{2} \ O_2 \to 4 \ CO_2 + 5 \ H_2O \\ \\&#10;\hbox{multiply by 2 to get rid of the fraction:} \\&#10;2 \ C_4H_{10} + 13 \ O_2 \to 8 \ CO_2 + 10 \ H_2O

The balanced equation is 2 C₄H₁₀ + 13 O₂ <span>→</span> 8 CO₂ + 10 H₂O.

Andrei [34K]

Answer:

8.3334%

Explanation:

You have two masses. To find the percent of sodium chloride in water by mass, you divide the mass of NaCl by water. First, make both units the same. Easiest is to convert kg into g. 1.5kg = 1500g

125g NaCl/1500g H2O = 0.0833333333 ==> 8.3334%
