What is 53 and 1/3 as a decimal and please show how to turn it into a decimal
malfutka [58]
Well,
First I would like to explain how to convert a mixed number or fraction into a decimal.
1. First if it's a mixed number change it into an improper fraction.
2. After that divide the numerator by the denominator.
3. Your finished as simple as that.
NOW FOR THE ACTUAL ANSWER
well I turned 53 1/3 into an improper fraction which came out to be 160/3. After the division the decimal came to be 53.3333(etc)
I did it in the calculator and everything so I'm almost positive I did this correctly haha)
I hope I helped.
And I really enjoyed answering this since I knew you weren't just looking for an answer but for the reason behind it and how to do it hahah.

Math 8: Linear Functions, Part 2
Studentka2010 [4]

Answer:

\boxed{\text{1. y + 5 = -4(x - 3); \qquad 2. y - 8 = x + 1}}

Step-by-step explanation:

Question 1

The point-slope formula for a straight line is

y – y₁ = m(x – x₁)

x₁ = 3; y₁ = -5; m = -4

Substitute the values

\boxed{\textbf{y + 5 = -4(x - 3)}}

The diagram shows the graph of equation 1 (red) with slope -4 passing through (3,-5).

Question 2

x₁ = -1; y₁ = 8; m = 1

Substitute the values

\boxed{\textbf{y - 8 = x + 1}}

The diagram shows the graph of equation 2 (green) with slope 1 passing through (-1,8).
