what is the empirical formula of a compound composed of 3.25% hydrogen and 19.36% carbon and 77.39% oxygen by Mass

Chemistry
1 answer:
Doss [256]3 years ago

3.25 g H (1  H / 1.008 g H) = 3.22

19.36 g  C (1  C / 12.01 g C) = 1.61

77.39 g O (1  O / 15.9994 g O) = 4.84

Take the smallest number calculated and divide the others by it.

1.61/1.61 = 1

C = 1.

3.22/1.61 = 2

H = 2

4.84/1.61 = 3

O = 3

=CH2O3

How did the mass change when the copper coin was made to look silver?
il63 [147K]

We have that The  the mass change when the copper coin was made to look silver is an increase in mass

Correct option C

It increased.

It is important to note that the copper coin after its cutting into shape will have a specific mass or weight and the silver coating solution will also have a net value of mass or weight

Therefore

The  the mass change when the copper coin was made to look silver is an increase in mass

WHICH IS WHICH?
Aleksandr-060686 [28]

Answer:

- First: element.

- Second: Compound.

- Third: element.

- Fourth: Compound.

Explanation:

Hello.

In this case, since elements are composed the same atom and compounds are composed by two different atoms, we can see that:

- First: it is an element as each sphere seems to be the same.

- Second: It is a compound as two different type of spheres are shown, white and black, considering each sphere is a different element.

- Third: it is an element because the spheres are equal, in fact, it is a diatomic element as two atoms are joined per molecule.

- Fourth: It is a compound as well since each molecule has two colored spheres and one white sphere, meaning that it has two different atoms per molecule.

Best regards.!

If a chemist analyzes a 3.84g sample containing sand and table sugar, and recovers 1.43g of      sand, what  percent by mass of
n200080 [17]
We are given with a mixture of sand and table sugar. The mixture has a mas s of 3.84 grams. After recovery, it was found out that there is 1.43 grams of sand. The amount of table sugar then is 3.84-1.43 or 2.41 grams. This is equal to 2.41/3.84 or 62.76% by mass/
