Chemistry
1 answer:

Answer:

Different types of macro organisms live in different qualities of water. This is because some are more resistant to pollution than others. For example, leeches and aquatic worms thrive in polluted water. Others are very sensetive to it, such as Mayflies, Caddisflies and Stoneflies.

To prevent water pollutions, you can be careful about what goes down your drains. All water from your drain has to re-enter the ecosystem at some point. Pouring oil, fat or grease down the sink is a very bad thing for the environment.

Water is important because we need a healthy water supply to keep our communities healthy. If our water supply such as a river or lake is contaminated with pollutants, it will become undrinkable.

What type of bonding occurs in a sample of pure barium, Ba? In other words, how is one barium atom held to another barium atom?
Irina-Kira [14]

Answer:metallic bond

Explanation:

The metallic bond consists of a layer of valence electrons electrostatically attracted to positive metal ions. Hence in a metal such as barium, electrons bind the metal ions together in the metallic crystal lattice of the element.

Determine how many moles of O2 are required to react completely with 4.6 mol of C4H10
kondaur [170]

Answer:

29.9 moles

2C²H¹⁰ needs 13 moles of O²

4.6 C⁴H¹⁰ needs X moles of O²

X= 13× 4.6 ÷ 2 = 59.8 ÷ 2 = 29.9 moles

The average density of a carbon-fiber-epoxy composite is 1.615 g/cm3. the density of the epoxy resin is 1.21 g/cm3 and that of t
ra1l [238]
The composite material is composed of carbon fiber and epoxy resins. Now, density is an intensive unit. So, to approach this problem, let's assume there is 1 gram of composite material. Thus, mass carbon + mass epoxy = 1 g.

Volume of composite material = 1 g / 1.615 g/cm³ = 0.619 cm³
Volume of carbon fibers = x g / 1.74 g/cm³
Volume of epoxy resin = (1 - x) g / 1.21 g/cm³

a.) V of composite = V of carbon fibers + V of epoxy resin
0.619 = x/1.74 + (1-x)/1.21
Solve for x,
x = 0.824 g carbon fibers
1-x = 0.176 g epoxy resins

Vol % of carbon fibers = [(0.824/1.74) ÷ 0.619]*100 = 76.5%

b.) Weight % of epoxy = 0.176 g epoxy/1 g composite * 100 = 17.6%
     Weight % of carbon fibers = 0.824 g carbon/1 g composite * 100 = 82.4%
