The force F acting on a particle constrained to move along the x - axis is given by the fucntion F ( x ) = a x ( b − c x 2 ) [ a

= 8.97 , b = 7.83 , c = 5.65 ] Find the three equilibrium points x 1 , x 2 , and x 3 , and enter them in order of ascending x ‑coordinate.

Answer:

— 1.177

0

1.177

Explanation:

Given that,

F(x) = ax(b — cx²)

Given that,

a = 8.97

b = 7.83

c = 5.65

F(x) = ax(b—cx²)

F(x) = abx — acx³

F(x) = 8.97 × 7.83x — 8.97 × 5.65x³

F(x) = 70.2351x —50.6805x³

Then, For a body to be in equilibrium the sum of forces acting on the body is zero. i.e. F(x) = 0

0 = 70.2351x —50.6805x³

70.2351x —50.6805x³ = 0

x(70.2351 —50.6805x²) = 0

For the multiplication of two number to be zero, it is either one of the number is zero or both of the number is zero

Therefore,

x = 0 OR 70.2351 —50.6805x² = 0

x=0

70.2351 — 50.6805x² = 0

50.6805x² = 70.2351

x² = 70.2351/50.6805

x² = 1.38584

x = √1.38584

x = ± 1.177

Then, the equilibrium position is

- 1.177, 1.177 and 0

So, the ascending order of the equilibrium position is -1.177, 0, 1.177

Answer:

The equilibrium points include

x₁ = - 1.177

x₂ = 0

x₃ = 1.177

Explanation:

At equilibrium, the sum of forces acting on a body is equal to zero.

F(x) = ax (b − cx²) [a = 8.97, b = 7.83, c = 5.65]

F(x) = (abx - acx³)

= (8.97×7.83)x - (8.97×5.65)x³

F(x) = 70.2351x - 50.6805x³

At equilibrium, F(x) = 0

70.2351x - 50.6805x³ = 0

x(70.2351 - 50.6805x²) = 0

x = 0 or (70.2351 - 50.6805x²) = 0

70.2351 - 50.6805x² = 0

50.6805x² = 70.2351

x² = (70.2351/50.6805)

x² = 1.385840708

x = ± 1.177

So, x = -1.177, 0 and 1.177

x₁ = - 1.177

x₂ = 0

x₃ = 1.177

Hope this Helps!!!

Consider 2 steel rods, A and B, B has three times the area and twice the length of A, so young modulus of B will be what factor
AVprozaik [17]

Answer:

  \frac{Y}{Y_o} = 2/3

Explanation:

The yuong modulus of a rod is defined as the relationship between the tensile strength and the strain

         Y =  \frac{ \frac{F}{A} }{\frac{\Delta L}{L_o} }

let's use the subscript "o" for rod A

         I = \frac{ \frac{F}{A_o} }{ \frac{\Delta L}{L_o} }

tells us that rod B has

         A = 3 A₀

         L = 2 L₀

we substitute

         Y = \frac{ \frac{F}{A} }{ \frac{\Delta L}{L} }

          Y = \frac{ \frac{F}{3A_o} }{ \frac{\Delta L}{ 2L_o}  }

         y = ⅔  \frac{ \frac{F}{A_o}}{ \frac{\Delta }{L_o} }

substituting the value of Y₀

          Y = ⅔  Y₀

           \frac{Y}{Y_o} = 2/3

How high does Pete lift his sledge hammer if he used a force of 25N to lift the hammer while doing 50J of work?
sasho [114]

Answer:He lifts 2 meters

Explanation:We are trying to find the distance. The formula for distance is W/Force. 50 is our amount of work. 25N is how much force was used. Divide the work bye the force. 50/25=2M
