Answer:

a) 0.142mH

b) 14mV

Explanation:

the complete answer is:

(a) Calculate the self-inductance of a solenoid that is <ghtly wound with wire of diameter 0.10 cm, has a cross-sec<onal area of 0.90 cm2 , and is 40 cm long. (b) If the current through the solenoid decreases uniformly from 10 to 0 A in 0.10 s, what is the emf induced between the ends of the solenoid

a) the self inductance of a solenoid is given by:

L=\frac{\mu_o N^2 A}{L}

μo: magnetic permeability of vacuum = 4\pi*10^{-7}N/A^2

A: cross sectional area = 0.9cm^2=9*10^{-5}m

L: length of the solenoid = 40cm = 0.4m

The N turns of the wire is calculated by using the diameter of the wire:

N = (40cm)/(0.10cm)=400

By replacing in the formula you obtain:

L=\frac{(4\pi *10^{-7}N/A^2)(400)^2(9*10^{-5}m^2))}{(0.4m)}=1.42*10^{-4}H

the self inductance is 1.42*10^{-4}H = 0.142mH

b) to find the emf you can use:

emf=L\frac{\Delta I}{\Delta t}=(1.42*10^{-4}H)\frac{10A-0A}{0.10s}=0.014V=14mV

the emf induced is 14mV

A particle is attached to a spring and is pushed so that the spring is compressed more and more. As a result, the spring exerts
ad-work [718]
In order for particles to perform a simple harmonic motion, we must follow the law of force of the form F = -kx, where x is the displacement of the object from the equilibrium position and k is the spring constant. The force shown in <span>F = -kx is always the restoring force in the sense that the particles are pulled towards the equilibrium position.

The repulsive force felt when the charge q1 is pushed into another charge q2 of the same polarity is given by Coulomb's law
                                F = </span><span>k *q1* q2 / r^2.
</span>It is clear that Coulomb's law is an inverse-square relationship. It does not have the same mathematical form as the equation <span><span>F = -kx.</span> Thus, charged particles pushed towards another fixed charged particle of the same fixed polarity do not show a simple harmonic motion when released. Coulomb's law does not describe restoring force. When q1 is released, it just fly away from q2 and never returns.</span>

A proton moves perpendicular to a uniform magnetic field B with arrow at a speed of 2.40 107 m/s and experiences an acceleration
noname [10]

Answer:

0.00956770833 T

Explanation:

q = Charge of electron = 1.6\times 10^{-19}\ C

m = Mass of proton = 1.67\times 10^{-27}\ kg

a = Acceleration = 2.2\times 10^{13}\ m/s^2

v = Velocity = 2.4\times 10^{7}\ m/s

Magnetic field is given by

B=\dfrac{ma}{qv}\\\Rightarrow B=\dfrac{1.67\times 10^{-27}\times 2.2\times 10^{13}}{1.6\times 10^{-19}\times 2.4\times 10^{7}}\\\Rightarrow B=0.00956770833\ T

The magnetic field is 0.00956770833 T

Planets use carbon dioxide for?
creativ13 [48]
In a process called “photosynthesis,” plants use the energy in sunlight to convert CO2 and water to sugar and oxygen. The plants use the sugar for food; food that we use, too, when we eat plants or animals that have eaten plants and they release the oxygen into the atmosphere.
So it’s PHOTOSYNTHESIS

What is true of an object pulled inward in an electric field?
slava [35]

Answer:

option b

Explanation:

There is an object pulled inward in an electric field.

We have to find out of the four options given which is true.

a) The object has a neutral charge is false since when electric field pulls the object inward, there is a charge inside.

b) The object has a charge opposite that of the field, this option is correct since there will be an equal and opposite charge created by the object

c) The object has a negative charge will be correct only if the original charge was positive hence wrong

d) The object has a charge the same as that of the field is incorrect since this would be opposite the charge

So only option b is right
