The most prominent health problem affecting children in the United States is that of child obesity. About one in five adolescents in the United States is obese. This leads to increase risks of heart diseases as well as diabetes, hypertension, stroke and a whole variety of other diseases. This problem is less severe in other developed countries, which means that children from those countries are more likely to live longer.
