Sickle-cell anemia is a disorder of the blood caused by an inherited abnormal hemoglobin which is an oxygen-carrying protein within the red blood cells. The abnormal hemoglobin causes distorted (sickled appearing under a microscope) red blood cells.

Marisol is suffering from diabetes. In diabetes the insulin production is very little or non existing. Since the insulin allows the glucose to enter the cells, and in diabetes this hormone practically doesn't exist, the glucose will accumulate in the blood, causing hyperglycemia, and she will be hungry because the cells don't have energy (glucose) entering.
Karyotypes were first performed using blood samples taken from youngsters and adults. Later, a pre- birth process called amniocentesis was developed which allowed medical researchers to obtain samples of cells from extraembryonic fluid located in the amniotic sac, which surrounds an unborn child.
It should be karst limestone and it forms by erosion of rocks such as limestone that dissolved in water in a process called chemical weathering :)
