What is the value of n in the equation shown below? 2^2 x 2^n = (2^4)^3

Mathematics

AlekseyPX3 years ago
3 0
So 2^2*2^n=(2^4)^3
2^2= 4
2^4=16
Then 16^3=4096
Now what we have is 4*2^n= 4096
You need to get the 2^n by itself so divide out the 4
4096/4= 1024
2^n=1024
Now you need to do log to get rid of that exponent
Therefore: n=log2(2024) or n=10

ANSWER
n=10

An equation is shown below: 9(3x – 16) + 15 = 6x – 24 Part A: Write the steps you will use to solve the equation, and explain ea
Goryan [66]
9(3x - 16) + 15 = 6x - 24

First distribute 9 to 3x and -16.

27x - 144 + 15 = 6x - 24

Combine like terms. (-144 + 15)

27x - 129 = 6x - 24

Get the variable, x, on one side of the equation. You can do this by subtracting 6x from both sides.

21x - 129 = -24

Add 129 to both sides to isolate x.

21x = 105

Divide 21 off of both sides to find the value of x.

x = 5

You can plug x into the equation to check your answer.

9(3 x 5 - 16) + 15 = 6(5) - 24
6 = 6

In a large population, 69% of the people have been vaccinated. If 4 people are randomly selected, what is the probability that A
elena-s [515]

Answer:

0.991

Step-by-step explanation:

Let Q be probability none of the 4 are vaccinated.

Let P be probability that at least 1 is vaccinated.

P = 1 - Q

Now if 69% are vaccinated, then 31% are not vaccinated.

Thus any given person has a probability of 0.31 of not being vaccinated.

Q = (0.31)^4 = 0.00924

P = 1 - 0.00924 = 0.991
