Air is a mixture.

as per definition, mixture is a combination we get after adding two or more things together in any proportion.

air is a mixture because it contains a number of gases like nitrogen , oxygen, carbon dioxide. it also contains dust particles, small organisms, water vapors etc.

carbon monoxide is not a mixture as it is formed from fixed proportion of carbon and oxygen.

similarly, water is is not a mixture as it is formed from fixed proportion of hydrogen and oxygen.

Suppose a 1 Gbps point-to-point link is being set up between the Earth and a new lunar colony. The distance from the moon to Ear
vagabundo [1.1K]

Answer:

The time required to send the data from Earth to Moon will be 1.28s while for a two way communication, to send it back to the earth, it will take double time i.e. <em>RTT = 2.56s </em>

Explanation:

Distance between Earth and Moon = 385,000 km = 3.85 x 10⁸m

Speed of data travel = speed of light ≈ 3 x 10⁸m/s

As, v=d/t

t=d/v

t=\frac{3.85*10^{8} }{3*10^{8}}

t=1.28s

RTT = Double of single way time taken = 2x1.28

<em><u>RTT=2.56s</u></em>

Which statement about the function of the cell membrane of all organisms is not correct? The cell membrane forms a barrier that
rosijanka [135]

Answer:

The cell membrane is capable of transforming oxygen and glucose into energy for the cell

Explanation:

The cell membrane encapsulates all the organelles of the cell. It provides protection for the organelles of the cell.

It transports nutrients into the cell and toxic materials out of the cell. It also prevents the entry of harmful materials into the cell.

The cell membrane does not perform the function of  transforming oxygen and glucose into energy for the cell.

An object (mass 12.5 kg) slides on a frictionless surface at 1.32 m/s. How much work must be done to bring the object to rest
mote1985 [20]

Answer:

10.89 J.

Explanation:

The following data were obtained from the question:

Mass (m) = 12.5 kg

Velocity (v) = 1.32 m/s

Work done =?

To obtain the workdone, we shall determine the kinetic energy of the object since work and energy has the same unit of measurement. This is illustrated below:

Mass (m) = 12.5 kg

Velocity (v) = 1.32 m/s

Kinetic energy (K.E) =?

K.E = ½mv²

K.E = ½ × 12.5 × 1.32²

K.E = 6.25 × 1.7424

K.E = 10.89 J

The kinetic energy of the object is 10.89 J. Hence, the workdone in bringing the object to rest is 10.89 J.
