Hey there,

Electric cells we use usually carry limited voltage. Here's an example: 1.5V. Really, there is no chance of any shot circuit. that's why MCB and fuse wires are not used in their circuit .

A simple circuit has a 12.0V12.0V battery and three resistors of 6.0Ω6.0Ω connected in parallel. If the current through the batt
Umnica [9.8K]

Answer:

The internal resistance of the battery is 1.0 Ω.

Explanation:

Given that,

Voltage = 12,0 V

Resistance of each resistor = 6.0 Ω

Current = 4.0 A

When three resistors are connected in parallel.

We need to calculate the resistance

Using formula of parallel

\dfrac{1}{R}=\dfrac{1}{R_{1}}+\dfrac{1}{R_{2}}+\dfrac{1}{R_{3}}

Here, R₁ = R₂ = R₃

\dfrac{1}{R}=\dfrac{1}{6}+\dfrac{1}{6}+\dfrac{1}{6}

\dfrac{1}{R}=\dfrac{1}{2}

R = 2\ \Omega

The equivalent resistance is

R_{eq}=R+r

R_{eq}=2+r

We need to calculate the internal resistance

Using ohm's law

V = IR

R_{eq}=\dfrac{V}{I}

R+r=\dfrac{V}{I}

Where, R = resistance

r = internal resistance

V = voltage

I = current

Put the value into the formula

2+r=\dfrac{12.0}{4.0}

r=3.0-2

r=1.0\ \Omega

Hence, The internal resistance of the battery is 1.0 Ω.

I need help answer these questions please
jekas [21]

Answer:

1. 25 J

2. 250 J

3. 900,000 J

4. 7,500 J

Explanation:

1. The distance the wheelbarrow is tilted, d = 0.5 m

The force used to tilt the wheelbarrow, F = 50 N

The work done, W = F × d

∴ W = 50 N × 0.5 m = 25 J

2. Work done, W = Force × Distance

The applied force, F = 50 N

The distance the sand is moved, d = 5 m

∴ W = 50 N × 5 m = 250 J

3. The work done, W = The load lifted × The height to which the load is lifted

∴ W = 90,000 N × 10 m = 900,000 J

The work done, W = 900,000 J

4. The work output of the skateboard = The work input × Efficiency

Given that the skateboard is an ideal machine, we have;

The work output of the skateboard = The work input = W

W = F × d

F = 15 N, d = 500 m

∴ W = 15 N × 500 m = 7,500 J

The work output of the skateboard = W = 7,500 J.

Olivia is on a swing at the playground.
maks197457 [2]

Olivia is on a swing at the playground. The kinetic energy is increasing and her potential energy decreasing at point X.

<h3>What is kinetic energy and potential energy?</h3>

The kinetic energy of an object is the ability to do work by virtue of its motion and potential energy is the ability to do work by virtue of its position.

At point W and Z, Olivia is at the maximum displacement from the mean position, where kinetic energy is zero and potential energy is maximum.

At point Y, it is approaching to increase its potential energy and decreasing kinetic energy. Opposite to this, at point X, kinetic energy is increasing and potential energy is decreasing.

Thus, the kinetic energy is increasing and her potential energy decreasing at point X.
