by superposition method we can find current in R5

here first let say only 2V battery is present in the circuit

now the equivalent resistance to be found for which we can say

2.2 k ohm and 1 k ohm is connected in parallel

r_1 = \frac{2.2 * 1}{2.2 + 1}

r_1 = 0.6875 k ohm

now it is in series with 1 k ohm and then that part is in parallel with 2.2 k ohm

r_2 = \frac{2.2* (1+0.6875)}{2.2 + (1+0.6875)}

r_2 = 0.95 k ohm

now the current flowing through the battery is

i = \frac{2}{1 + 0.95} = 1.02 mA

now this will divide into R3 and R2 so current flowing in R3 will be

i_1 = \frac{2.2}{2.2+1.6875}*1.02 = 0.58 mA

now this will again divide in R4 and R5

so current in R5 will be

i_5 = \frac{R_4}{R_4 + R_5}* i_1

i_5 = 0.18 mA

now when only 3 V battery is present in the circuit

R1 and R2 is in parallel and then it is in series with R3

so parallel combination will be

r_1 = \frac{1*2.2}{2.2 +1} = 0.6875k ohm

also after its series with R3

r_2 = 1 + 0.6875 = 1.6875 k ohm

now it is in parallel with R5 on other side

r_3 = \frac{1.6875 * 2.2}{1.6875 + 2.2} = 0.95 k ohm

now current through the battery will be given as

i = \frac{3}{1 + 0.95} = 1.53 mA

now it is divide in r2 and R5

so current in R5 is given as

i_5 = \frac{r_2}{r_2 + R_5}*i

i_5 = \frac{1.6875}{2.2 + 1.6875} * 1.53

i_5 = 0.67 mA

now the total current in R5 will be given by super position which is

i = 0.67 + 0.18 = 0.85 mA

so there is 0.85 mA current through R5 resistance

A skater goes into a spin with her arms pulled in (close to her body). When she stretches her arms out: A) her angular speed ω d
musickatia [10]

Answer:

When she stretches her arms out,<em> B) her angular speed ω increases due to her moment of inertia decreasing</em>

Explanation:

The angular momentum of a rotating object is defined as the product of its moment of inertia and angular speed.

<em>L = I ω</em>

<em>where</em>

  • <em>L is the angular momentum</em>
  • <em>I is the moment of inertia</em>
  • <em>ω is the angular speed</em>

<em />

According to the principle of conservation of angular momentum, if there is no external torque, angular momentum of the skater must remain conserved. If the initial and final moment of inertia is <em>I_i and I_f  </em>while corresponding angular velocities are <em>ω_i and ω_f , </em>then the principle of conservation of angular momentum can be expressed as the following equation:

<em>(I_f) (ω_f) = (I_i) (ω_i)</em>

<em>ω_f / ω_i = I_i / I_f</em>

<em />

From the expression above, we can see that if the moment of inertia decreases, angular velocity would increase to conserve angular momentum of the skater.

Therefore, When she stretches her arms out,<em> her angular speed ω increases due to her moment of inertia decreasing.</em>

A 60 cm diameter wheel accelerates from rest at a rate of 7 rad/s2. After the wheel has undergone 14 rotations, what is the radi
Mamont248 [21]

Answer:

a=368.97\ m/s^2

Explanation:

Given that,

Initial angular velocity, \omega=0

Acceleration of the wheel, \alpha =7\ rad/s^2

Rotation, \theta=14\ rotation=14\times 2\pi =87.96\ rad

Let t is the time. Using second equation of kinematics can be calculated using time.

\theta=\omega_it+\dfrac{1}{2}\alpha t^2\\\\t=\sqrt{\dfrac{2\theta}{\alpha }} \\\\t=\sqrt{\dfrac{2\times 87.96}{7}} \\\\t=5.01\ s

Let \omega_f is the final angular velocity and a is the radial component of acceleration.

\omega_f=\omega_i+\alpha t\\\\\omega_f=0+7\times 5.01\\\\\omega_f=35.07\ rad/s

Radial component of acceleration,

a=\omega_f^2r\\\\a=(35.07)^2\times 0.3\\\\a=368.97\ m/s^2

So, the required acceleration on the edge of the wheel is 368.97\ m/s^2.
