Failure of the respiratory system would cause failure of the circulatory system because the respiratory system helps you breath and with you not breathing it would cause the circulatory system to fail because breathing makes the blood flow through the circulatory system.

The two systems are known as the cardiopulmonary system. One system cannot function properly without the perfect function of the other. Such as with people with COPD, chronic obstructive Pulmonary diseases. The respiratory system is damaged affecting oxygenation. Without, proper lung function the heart has to work harder and in time causing the heart to grow larger and weaker, this is called cardiomegaly.
One system is dependent on the other. The cardiopulmonary system is best monitored by a pulmonologist when compromised .
