No, the medium does not move, but only vibrates in a perpendicular manner to which the wave is traveling.

A skateboarder shoots off a ramp with a velocity of 6.6 m/s, directed at an angle of 58 above the horizontal. The end of the ram
sweet-ann [11.9K]

Answer:

a) Maximum height reached above ground = 2.8 m

b) When he reaches maximum height he is 2 m far from end of the ramp.

Explanation:

a) We have equation of motion v²=u²+2as

   Considering vertical motion of skateboarder.

   When he reaches maximum height,

          u = 6.6sin58 = 5.6 m/s

          a = -9.81 m/s²

          v = 0 m/s

  Substituting

         0²=5.6² + 2 x -9.81 x s

          s = 1.60 m

  Height above ground = 1.2 + 1.6 = 2.8 m

b) We have equation of motion v= u+at

   Considering vertical motion of skateboarder.

   When he reaches maximum height,

          u = 6.6sin58 = 5.6 m/s

          a = -9.81 m/s²

          v = 0 m/s

  Substituting

         0= 5.6 - 9.81 x t

          t = 0.57s

  Now considering horizontal motion of skateboarder.

  We have equation of motion s =ut + 0.5 at²

          u = 6.6cos58 = 3.50 m/s

          a = 0 m/s²

          t = 0.57

  Substituting

         s =3.5 x 0.57 + 0.5 x 0 x 0.57²

         s = 2 m

  When he reaches maximum height he is 2 m far from end of the ramp.

If you cut a metal cube into four pieces, do the new pieces have a different mass than the original cube? Do the new pieces have
Gre4nikov [31]
Each piece will have 1/4 of the mass of the original big cube, but its density will be the same.
Density is a property of a substance, no  matter how much or how little of it you have.
A speck of it on the tip of your pinky and a supertankerful of the same substance have the same density.

The Moon has a mass of 7.35 * 1022 kg, and a radius of 1.737 * 106 m. Based on
suter [353]

Answer:

1.63 ms^{-2}

Explanation:

The equation g = \frac{G*M}{R^2} would be used where:

g = acceleration due to gravity

G = universal gravitational constant (6.67408 × 10^{-11} m^{3} kg^{-1} s^{-2})

M = mass

R = radius.

assuming the values following both 10s of the mass and radius are their exponents, which is a little confusing, the values given would simply be substituted.

Anyone can correct me if I'm wrong.
