This question regards area.  Area is length times x width.  The only problem is that both numbers are not in the same units.
16 x 3 = 48 square feet
A meter is roughly 3 feet but we'll use a closer number which is 3.28 feet.
Now 3.28 x 3.28 is, 10.76 which is how many feet are in a square meter.
Now divide 48 by 10.76=4.46 square meters.
If we would have left a meter at 3 feet the answer would be
3 x 3=9
48 divided by 9 is 5.33

A bank manager wants to encourage new customers to open accounts with principals of at least $3,000. He decides to make a poster
ankoles [38]

Assuming that the 4.8% interest rate is an annual interest rate, then, after one year, with a principal of $3,000 we would be able to win 4.8% of $3000:

3000\times\frac{4.8}{100}=144

Divide 144 over 12 to find the monthly earnings:

\frac{144}{12}=12

Therefore, with a principal of $3,000 we would be earning $12 interest in 1 month.

For the earnings on the first month to be equal to $10, then you would have to win $120 annually, and $120 must be 4.8% of the principal. To find which quantity satisfies that 4.8% of it is equal to $120, divide 120 over 4.8%:

\frac{120}{4.8\text{ \%}}=\frac{120}{(4.8/100)}=\frac{100}{4.8}\times120=2500

Therefore, the principal must be equal to $2500 for you to win $10 on the first month, and it would indeed be correct to say that if you open an account with $3000 you will earn at least $10 interest in 1 month.

Place the correct symbol, < or >, between the two numbers 11/18 17/24
evablogger [386]

For this case we must indicate the correct sign between the following numbers:

\frac {11} {18}\ and\ \frac {17} {24}

We have to:

\frac {11} {18} = 0.611111111111\\\frac {17} {24} = 0.708333333333

So, we have to \frac {17} {24}> \frac {11} {18}

Answer:

\frac {17} {24}> \frac {11} {18}
