As the electric current in a lightbulb is slowly increased the filament glows kore and more brightly. Why does this happen

For just a second, think of the light bulb as just a resistance.

The power dissipated any any resistance is (current)² x (resistance).

You can see that if you increase the current through any resistance,
then it dissipates more power.

The light bulb dissipates power in the form of heat and light. If you
increase the current through it, then both of those will increase.

As the drawing illustrates, a siren can be made by blowing a jet of air through 20 equally spaced holes in a rotating disk. The
Aneli [31]

Answer:

ω = 630.2663 = 630[rad/s]

Explanation:

Solution:

- We can tackle this question by simple direct proportion relation between angular speed for the disk to rotate a cycle that constitutes 20 holes. We will use direct relation with number of holes per cycle to compute the revolution per seconds i.e frequency of speed f.

                                  1rev(20 hole) -> 20(cycle)/rev

                                        2006.2(cycle) -> f ?

                              f = 2006.2/20 = 100.31rev at second

- The relation between angular frequency and angular speed is given by:

                                 ω = 2πf

                                 ω = 2*3.14*100.31

                                 ω = 630.2663 = 630[rad/s]

Up to a point, the elongation of a spring is directly proportional to the force applied to it. Once you extend the spring more t
olga2289 [7]

The force result in stretching the spring 10.0 centimeters is 2.5N.

What is Hooke's law?

If a spring is stretched from its equilibrium position, then a force with magnitude proportional to the increase in length from the equilibrium length is pulling each end.

F = kx

where k is the proportionality constant called the spring constant or force constant.

Up to a point, the elongation of a spring is directly proportional to the force applied to it. Once you extend the spring more than 10.0 centimeters, however, it no longer follows that simple linear rule.

Let the spring constant be very low 0.04N/m

The force applied is

F = 10 cm / 0.04

F = 0.1 m  / 0.04

F = 2.5 N

Thus, the force result in stretching the spring 10cm is 2.5 N.
