The ice sheets are the large masses of the glacial ice, which are spread more than 50,000 square kilometres. Ice sheath have maximum of the fresh waters, and they are also referred to as continental glaciers. The glacial ice less, which are less spread than ice sheets are known as ice caps. Many ice caps together form an ice field. These ice caps flows in all the directions outwards. only valley glaciers flow downwards in valley.

Hence, the correct answer is option (b). They flow in all the direction.

The glacial ice which is quite large and thick in mass is called the ice sheet which flows out from an accumulation point in all the directions.

Further Explanation:

The snow that falls down compresses into a large, thick mass of ice and gives rise to glaciers. They are formed as a result of collection of snow in a particular location which is long enough for its transformation into ice. Glaciers have the ability to move or flow like a slow river due to the mass of the thick ice layer. The high elevation of glaciers adds mass to them and the increase in the weight with time results in the deformation of the ice, forcing the downhill flow of the glacier.

An ice sheet is the largest type of glacier, also called continental glacier, present in Antarctica and Greenland. It is a large continental mass of snow and glacial ice spreading over an area of 50,000 square kilometers.

Valley glaciers move down the valley whereas, continental ice sheets move outwards in all the directions. The glaciers and ice sheets contribute to a rise in sea level as they rest on land and eventually flow down.
