Suppose two children push horizontally, but in exactly opposite directions, on a third child in a wagon. The first child exerts

a force of 75.0 N, the second a force of 95.0 N, friction is 12.0 N, and the mass of the third child plus wagon is 21.0 kg.
(c) Calculate the acceleration.
m/s2

Answer:

Value of acceleration in each case is  7.52\ m/s^2 \ and \ 7.14\ m/s^2.

Explanation:

According to newton's law :

F_{net} = ma       ...equation 1.

In the given case, F_{net}= Force by both the children - Friction force .

F_{net} = (75+95)-12=158\ N.

Putting value of F in equation 1.

a=\dfrac{F_{net}}{m}=\dfrac{158}{21}=7.52\ m/s^2.

Now, if friction force = 20 N.

Therefore, F_{net}=(75+95)-20=150\ N.

Putting value of F and a in equation 1.

a=\dfrac{F_{net}}{m}=\dfrac{150}{21}=7.14\ m/s^2.

Hence , this is the required solution.

Which of the following are properties of acids?
vladimir2022 [97]
The properties of acids are: (A), (C) and (D).

Explanation:
Acids taste sour, and most acids are poisonous. Furthermore, acids react with certain metals to produce hydrogen gas. Few acids are corrosive as well. The option (B) is not valid because acids react with BASES (not with other acids) to produce salt and water. Hence A, C and D are the correct options.

A tiger leaps with an initial velocity of 35.0 km/hr at an angle of 13.0ᶿ with respect to the horizontal. What are the component
Lorico [155]

Answer:

Vx = 35 x cos(13deg)

Vy = 35 x sin(13deg) - gt

(g is acceleration due to gravity =~9.8 meter/second^2, t is time in second)

Explanation:

The tiger leaps up, then x and y component of its velocity are:

Vx = Vo x cos(alpha)

Vy = Vo x sin(alpha) - gt

(Vo is tiger's initial velocity, alpha is angle between its leaping direction and horizontal plane)

Hope this helps!
