Argon in the amount of 0.6 kg fills a 0.05 m3 piston cylinder device at 550 kPa. The piston is now moved by changing the weights

until the volume is twice its original size. During this process, Iron’s temperature is maintained constant. Determine the final pressure in the device.

Answer:

The final pressure in the device is 275 kPa.

Explanation:

Given that,

Amount of argon = 0.6 kg

Initial volume = 0.05 m³

Pressure = 550 kPa

Final volume = 2 initial volume

Temperature is constant.

We need to calculate the final pressure

Using ideal gas

P_{1}V_{1}=RT_{1}

P_{1}V_{1}=RT_{2}

Here, Temperature is constant

So, from equation (I) and equation (II)

P_{1}V_{1}=P_{2}V_{2}

P_{2}=\dfrac{P_{1}V_{1}}{V_{2}}

Put the value into the formula

P_{2}=\dfrac{550\times10^{3}\times0.05}{2\times0.05}

P_{2}=275000\ Pa

P_{2}=275\ kPa

Hence, The final pressure in the device is 275 kPa.

Please help me with questions 1, 2 and 3. <br> i need a step by step explanation
kifflom [539]

Answer:

1) d

2) 5 m/s

3) 100

Explanation:

The equation of position x for a constant acceleration a and an initial velocity v₀, initial position x₀, time t is:

(i) x=\frac{1}{2}at^2+v_0t+x_0

The equation for velocity v and a constant acceleration a is:

(ii) v=at+v_0

1) Solve equation (ii) for acceleration a and plug the result in equation (i)

(iii) a = \frac{v -v_0}{t}

(iv) x = \frac{v-v_0}{2t}t^2+v_0t + x_0

Simplify equation (iv) and use the given values v = 0, x₀ = 0:

(v) x=-\frac{v_0}{2}t + v_0t= \frac{v_0}{2}t

2) Given v₀= 3m/s, a=0.2m/s², t=10 s. Using equation (ii) to get the final velocity v:v=at+v_0=0.2\frac{m}{s^2} * 10s+3\frac{m}{s}=2\frac{m}{s}+3\frac{m}{s}=5\frac{m}{s}

3) Given v₀=0m/s, t₁=10s, t₂=1s and x₀=0. Looking for factor f = x(t₁)/x(t₂) using equation(i) to calculate x(t₁) and x(t₂):

f=\frac{x(t_1)}{x(t_2)}=\frac{\frac{1}{2}at_1^2 }{\frac{1}{2}at_2^2}=\frac{t_1^2}{t_2^2}=\frac{10^2}{1^2}=\frac{100}{1}

A soccer field is viewed from above, while a ball is kicked eastward with an initial speed of 10.0 m/s. The ball experiences a c
satela [25.4K]

Answer:

the ball travelled approximately 60 m towards north before stopping

Explanation:

 Given the data in the question;

First course : a_{x} = 0.75 m/s², d_{x} = 20 m, u_{x} = 10 m/s

now, form the third equation of motion;

v² = u² + 2as

we substitute

v_{x}² = (10)² + (2 × 0.75 × 20)

v_{x}² = 100 + 30

v_{x}² = 130

v_{x} = √130

v_{x} = 11.4 m/s

for the Second Course:

u_{y} =  11.4 m/s,  a_{y} = -1.15 m/s²,  v_{y} = 0

Also, form the third equation of motion;

v² = u² + 2as

we substitute

0² = (11.4)² + (2 × (-1.15) ×  d_{y} )

0 = 129.96 - 2.3d_{y}

2.3d_{y}  = 129.96

d_{y} = 129.96 / 2.3

d_{y} = 56.5 m

so;

|d| = √( d_{x}² + d_{y}² )

we substitute

|d| = √( (20)² + (56.5)² )

|d| = √( 400 + 3192.25 )

|d| = √( 3592.25 )

|d| = 59.9 m ≈ 60 m

Therefore, the ball travelled approximately 60 m towards north before stopping
