Answer:

No. The crown is made of lead

Explanation:

From Archimedes principle,

D/D' = W/U

Where D = density of the crown, D' = Density of water, W = weight of the crown in air, U = Upthrust of the crown in water.

make D the subject of the equation,

D = D'(W/U)................... Equation 1

W = mg

Where g = 9.8 m/s², m = 14.7 kg.

W = 14.7(9.8) = 144.06 N.

U = 9.8(14.7-13.4) = 12.74 N.

Constant: D' = 1000 kg/m³

Substitute into equation 1

D = 1000(144.06/12.74)

D = 11307.69 kg/m³

Density of the crown = 11307.69 kg/m³

And Density of Gold = 19300 kg/m³

From the above, The crown is not made of Gold

A submarine can detect an approaching enemy submarine using sonar. If a stationary submerged submarine emits a 100kHz tone and r
prisoha [69]

Answer:

B ) 1.5 m/s

Explanation:

For the apparent frequency reflected by enemy submarine , the Doppler effect formula is

F = F₀ ( V + v) / (V - v)

F anf F₀ are real and apparent frequency , V and v are velocity of sound and velocity of enemy submarine respectively.

ΔF / F₀ = \frac{2\times v}{V -v}

Put ΔF = 200;  F₀ = 100000 and  V = 1482

200 / 100000 = \frac{2\times v }{1482-v}

v = 1.5 m s⁻¹ .

A stone is thrown straight up from the roof of an 80 ft building. the height, in feet, of the stone at any time t, in seconds, m
julsineya [31]

Answer:

144 ft

Explanation:

h(t) = -16t² + 64t + 80

The maximum height is at the vertex.  We can find the vertex of a parabola using -b / (2a):

t = -64 / (2×-16)

t = 2

The vertex is at 2 seconds.  The height of the stone at this time is:

h(2) = -16(2)² + 64(2) + 80

h(2) = 144

The maximum height is 144 feet.

A 600 kg elevator starts from rest. It moves upward for 4.50 s with constant acceleration until it reaches its cruising speed, 1
viktelen [127]

Answer:

408.33watts

Explanation:

Power is expressed according to the formula

Power = work done/time

Power = force × distance/time

Power = Force× velocity

Find the force

F = mv/t

F = 600×1.75/4.5

F = 1050/4.5

F=233.33N

Get the power

Power = 233.33×1.75

Power = 408.33watts

Hence the average power of the elevator motor during this period is 408.33m/s
