The tiny fruit fly is a superstar of genetics research. Thousands of experiments have explored how flies inherit traits. Wing sh

ape, body color, eye color, and head shape are a few traits under investigation. Fruit flies make good study subjects because they are inexpensive, take little space, and breed quickly. In addition, humans and fruit flies share 75% of their disease genes. By studying fruit-fly genetics, we can learn about human illness.
Short-winged fruit flies studied in the lab cannot fly because they have an allele that causes them to grow tiny wings (w). Normal fruit flies, known as “wild-types”, have fully functional wings (W). The wild-type wing is the dominant allele.
If you cross one short-winged fly (ww) with a wild-type fly (WW), what is the probability of getting a short-winged offspring in the F1 generation?
Explain your reasoning.

When 10 grams of copper and 10 grams of iodine are mixed, what is the
PtichkaEL [24]

Answer:

Third option is correct, 7.5 grams of CuI.

Explanation:

Given data :

Mass of copper = 10 grams

Mass of iodine = 10 grams

theoretical yield of copper iodide = ?

Solution:

Moles of Cu: 10 / 63.5 = 0.157 mol.

Moles of I2: 10 / 254 = 0.039 mol.

Equation : 2Cu + I2 → 2CuI

Limiting reactant : I2

So Moles of CuI produced = 0.039 mol.

Mass of CuI = 0.039 mol * 190.5 = around 7.5g

A 135 g sample of carbon disulfide requires 43.2 kj of heat to vaporize completely. what is the enthalpy of vaporization for car
Sergio [31]
Molecular weight of CS2 = 76.14 g

number of moles of CS2 = \frac{weight.of.CS2}{molecular.weight}
                                        = \frac{135}{76.14}
                                        = 1.773

Now, 1.733 mol requires 43.2 kj of heat to vaporize.
∴  1 mol will require \frac{43.2}{1.77} = 24.4 kj/mol

Thus, correct answer is option B

How many inks are in each dye in each pen?
IrinaVladis [17]

Explanation:

dye is a coloured substance that chemically bonds to the substrate to which it is being applied. This distinguishes dyes from pigments which do not chemically bind to the material they colour. The dye is generally applied in an aqueous solution, and may require a mordant to improve the fastness of the dye on the fiber.[2]
