A family made the observation that more expensive brands of popcorn seem to produce more popped kernels than cheaper brands of p

opcorn. In order to test this hypothesis, the family conducted an experiment in which they followed the procedures below: The family bought 2 differing brands of popcorn to test: Wilbur Bockenreder Popcorn and PopWhisper. They measured 1 cup of kernels and popped 5 bowls of each type of popcorn. They ensured they popped the popcorn for the same amount of time, used the same wattage microwave, and did not have any other ingredients added to the kernels (butter, etc). They counted and recorded the number of unpopped kernels in each of the 10 bowls. As they analyzed the data collected, they were able to conclude that their initial hypothesis was supported. They formed the conclusion that the more expensive brand of popcorn popped more kernels than the cheaper brand of popcorn. From this experiment, let's answer some questions. Identify the independent variable.

Answer:

<u>The different types of corn used.</u>

Explanation:

<u>Independent variable:</u> In research methods, the term "independent variable" is determined as a variable that is being manipulated, changed, or altered in an experiment by the experimenter in order to see its effect on the dependent variable. The changes in the dependent variable in an experiment depends on the independent variable directly.

Two lasers are shining on a double slit, with slit separation d. Laser 1 has a wavelength of d/20, whereas laser 2 has a wavelen
xxTIMURxx [149]

Answer:

A) first laser

B) 0.08m

C) 0.64m

Explanation:

To find the position of the maximum you use the following formula:

y=\frac{m\lambda D}{d}

m: order of the maximum

λ: wavelength

D: distance to the screen = 4.80m

d: distance between slits

A) for the first laser you use:

y_1=\frac{(1)(d/20)(4.80m)}{d}=0.24m\\

for the second laser:

y_2=\frac{(1)(d/15)(4.80m)}{d}=0.32m

hence, the first maximum of the first laser is closer to the central maximum.

B) The difference between the first maximum:

\Delta y=y_2-y_1=0.32m-0.24m=0.08m=8cm

hence, the distance between the first maximum is 0.08m

C) you calculate the second maximum of laser 1:

y_{m=2}=\frac{(2)(d/20)(4.80m)}{d}=0.48m

and for the third minimum of laser 2:

y_{minimum}=\frac{(m+\frac{1}{2})(\lambda)(D)}{d}\\\\y_{m=3}=\frac{(3+\frac{1}{2})(d/15)(4.80m)}{d}=1.12m

Finally, you take the difference:

1.12m-0.48m=0.64m

hence, the distance is 0.64m

Given Vout = 17.33 vpp and R1 = 3 kΩ, find the value of RF required to provide Av = 4.33. (Round your answer to 2 decimal places
Olenka [21]

Answer:

The magnitude of V_{2} is 4 V and phase of input voltage is zero

Explanation:

Given:

Output voltage V_{out} = 17.33

Resistance R_{1} = 3 kΩ

Voltage gain A_{v} = 4.33

For finding feedback resistance we use gain equation

Gain equation for non inverting op-amp is given by,

     A_{v} = 1+\frac{R_{f} }{R_{1} }

   4.33 = 1+ \frac{R_{f} }{3 k }

     R_{f} ≅ 10 kΩ

For finding input voltage we use,

   A_{v} = \frac{V_{out} }{V_{2} }

    V_{2} = \frac{17.33}{4.33}

    V_{2} = 4 V

The Phase of V_{2} is zero because output voltage phase is 360°

Therefore, the magnitude of V_{2} is 4 V and phase of input voltage is zero
