Cost of the new lacrosse stick = $51
Percentage of discount on the new lacrosse stick = 50%
Then
Amount of discount on the new lacrosse stick = (50/100) * 51 dollars
                                                                           = 51/2 dollars
                                                                           = 25.50 dollars
