Answer: Option (c) is the correct answer.

Explanation:

In order to reduce the velocity of wind there should be some placed some barrier near the field. So that when fast moving wind strikes at the surface of barrier then its speed will decrease.

Therefore, the farmer Wilcox should plant trees around the perimeter of his fields which will act as a barrier to the fast moving winds.

EastWind [94]

Answer:

41.16 Joules

Explanation:

Potential energy at a given instant is a function of mass and height of an object. The formula is

E_p = mgh = 2.80kg\cdot 9.8\frac{m}{s^2}\cdot 1.50m = 41.16 J

A system consists of a disk rotating on a frictionless axle and a piece of clay moving toward it, as shown in the figure above.
cestrela7 [59]

Explanation:

Forgive me If I am wrong, it's been a while since I've studied Torque.

The formula for the angular momentum is

momentum= I*w.

We can also write I*W as 1/2MR^2 * W so the extra mass coming from the block of clay would most likely cause the angular momentum to increase from the amount it was before.

A rope of length L has circular cross-sectional area A and density rho = m/V , where m is the mass of the rope and V = A · L is
hram777 [196]

Answer: µ = ρ¹ * A¹

Where x=1 and y=1

Explanation: According to the question, the mass per unit length (µ) is related to the density (ρ) and area A are related by the formulae below

µ = ρ * A

The dimension for each of these quantities is given below

Since µ is mass per unit length, unit is Kg/m and the dimension is ML^-1

ρ is density with unit kg/m³ and the dimension is ML^3

A is area with unit m², thus the dimension is M^2

Note that using dimensional analysis means we will be using the 3 fundamental quantities (mass, length and time) in our analysis.

Their dimensions below

Mass = M

Length = L

Time = T

Since the mass per unit length is related to density and area, we have a mathematical equation to provide a solution as shown below

µ = ρ^x * A^y.

By getting the power of x and y we will be able to get the formula that relates the quantities.

This is done by slotting in the dimensions of the respective quantities.

ML^-1 = (ML^-3)^x * (L²) ^y

By using law of indices on the right hand side of the equation, we have that

ML^-1 = (M^x * L^-3x) * (L^2y)

Also applying law of indices on the right hand side, we have that

ML^-1 = (M^x) * (L^-3x +2y)

The next step is to relate equal variables on both sides

For the M variable

M¹ = M^x which results to

x = 1

For the L variable

L^-1 = L^-3x+2y which results to

-1 = - 3x +2y

But x = 1

We have that

-1 = - 3(1) +2y

-1 = - 3 + 2y

-1 +3= 2y

2 = 2y

y = 1

Thus x=1 and y=1 and the formulae that relates the quantities is

µ = ρ¹ * A¹

michael kicks a ball at an angle if 36* horizontal. its initial velocity is 46 m/s. Find the maximum height it can reach, total
MAVERICK [17]

(a) At its maximum height, the ball's vertical velocity is 0. Recall that

{v_y}^2-{v_{0y}}^2=2a_y\Delta y

Then at the maximum height \Delta y=y_{\mathrm{max}}, we have

-\left(\left(46\,\dfrac{\mathrm m}{\mathrm s}\right)\sin36^\circ\right)^2=2\left(-9.8\,\dfrac{\mathrm m}{\mathrm s^2}\right)y_{\mathrm{max}}

\implies y_{\mathrm{max}}=37\,\mathrm m

(b) The time the ball spends in the air is twice the time it takes for the ball to reach its maximum height. The ball's vertical velocity is

v_y=v_{0y}+a_yt

and at its maximum height, v_y=0 so that

0=\left(46\,\dfrac{\mathrm m}{\mathrm s}\right)\sin36^\circ+\left(-9.8\,\dfrac{\mathrm m}{\mathrm s}\right)t

\implies t=2.8\,\mathrm s

which would mean the ball spends a total of about 5.6 seconds in the air.

(c) The ball's horizontal position in the air is given by

x=v_{0x}t

so that after 5.6 seconds, it will have traversed a displacement of

x=\left(46\,\dfrac{\mathrm m}{\mathrm s}\right)\cos36^\circ(5.6\,\mathrm s)

\implies x=180\,\mathrm m

A stone is thrown vertically upward with a speed of 12m/s from the edge of a cliff 70 m high (a) How much later it reaches the b
jonny [76]

Answer

given,

vertical speed of stone,v = 12 m/s

height of the cliff = 70 m

a) time taken by the stone to reach at the bottom of the cliff

We know that,

S = u t + 1/2 a t²

- 70 = 12 t - 0.5 x 9.8 t²

4.9 t² - 12 t - 70 = 0

solving the equation

t = 5.2 s (neglecting the negative value)

b) again using equation of motion

   v = u + a t

   v = 12 - 9.8 x 5.2

  v = -38.96 m/s

ignoring the negative sign

magnitude of velocity is equal to 38.96 m/s

c) total distance travel by the stone

  vertical distance covered by the stone

 v² = u² + 2 g h

 0 = 12² - 2 x 9.8 x h

 h = 7.34 m

to reach the stone to the same level distance travel be doubled.

Total distance travel by the stone

H = h + h + 70

H = 7.34 x 2 + 70

H = 84.7 m.
