Graph will open same way and is narrower.

If: f(x)= x^4

f(-2x)= (-2x)^4

Negative sign usually flips the graph and make it open to the opposite direction.  In this case since the function is to the 4th degree and the negative sign is included. The negative is basically ignored.

The term in front of x (a) determines how wide the graph opens. The bigger the a value the faster the slope increases so the narrower the graph opens.

Think if the slope is 4 vs 1/4.
