Trey is conducting an experiment to determine which fish food causes the most goldfish activity over a period of two weeks. He i

s going to set up ten fish tanks with 4 goldfish each. He will feed the fish in half of the tanks Swift Salmon food and the fish in the other half of the tanks Fast Flounder food. He will expose them to direct sunlight for 4 hours per day. Each tank will have the same size and type of goldfish, which will be fed the same amount of fish food. Each tank will be filled with the same type and amount of water and with the same type and amount of river rock.

Answer:

This question is incomplete as it lacks options, the options are:

Which change would be the most effective way to improve the validity of this experiment?

A) Increase the number of goldfish in each tank.

B) Increase the daily amount of food for each tank.

C) Create another group that is fed regular fish food.

D) Increase the number of tanks in each treatment group.

The answer is C

Explanation:

According to this question, an experiment is conducted by Trey to determine which fish food causes the most goldfish activity over a period of two weeks. In this experiment, the independent variable is the FISH FOOD which are; Swift Salmon food and Fast Flounder food. Other variables such as type of gold fish, amount of fish food, amount & type of water etc.

One of the ways to improve an experiment, which is lacking in this case is to have a CONTROL GROUP. Based on the fish foods used for each group, it is obvious that all groups in this experiment are experimental. Hence, creating another group that is fed regular fish food will serve as the CONTROL GROUP in order to compare with the experimental groups. This will improve the validity of the experiment.

Contrast the atmosphere with the biosphere
4vir4ik [10]

The biosphere contains all the planet's living things. This sphere includes all of the microorganisms, plants, and animals of Earth. Within the biosphere, living things form ecological communities based on the physical surroundings of an area. These communities are referred to as biomes. Deserts, grasslands, and tropical rainforests are three of the many types of biomes that exist within the biosphere.

The atmosphere contains all the air in Earth's system. It extends from less than 1 m below the planet's surface to more than 10,000 km above the planet's surface. The upper portion of the atmosphere protects the organisms of the biosphere from the sun's ultraviolet radiation. It also absorbs and emits heat. When air temperature in the lower portion of this sphere changes, weather occurs. As air in the lower atmosphere is heated or cooled, it moves around the planet. The result can be as simple as a breeze or as complex as a tornado.

In a certain clock, a pendulum of length L1 has a period T1 = 0.95s. The length of the pendulum
gulaghasi [49]

Answer:

Ratio of length will be \frac{L_2}{L_1}=1.108

Explanation:

We have given time period of the pendulum when length is L_1 is T_1=0.95sec

And when length is L_2 time period T_2=1sec

We know that time period is given by

T=2\pi \sqrt{\frac{L}{g}}

So 0.95=2\pi \sqrt{\frac{L_1}{g}}----eqn 1

And 1=2\pi \sqrt{\frac{L_2}{g}}-------eqn 2

Dividing eqn 2 by eqn 1

\frac{1}{0.95}=\sqrt{\frac{L_2}{L_1}}

Squaring both side

\frac{L_2}{L_1}=1.108
