Mars has two moons, Phobos and Deimos. Phobos orbits Mars at a distance of 9380 km from Mars's center, while Deimos orbits at 23
Sloan [31]

Answer:

The ratio is   \frac{T_1}{T_2}  = 3.965

Explanation:

From the question we are told that

   The  radius of Phobos orbit is  R_2 =  9380 km

    The radius  of Deimos orbit is  R_1 = 23500 \ km

Generally from Kepler's third law

    T^2 =  \frac{ 4 *  \pi^2 *  R^3}{G * M  }

Here M is the mass of Mars which is constant

        G is the gravitational  constant

So we see that \frac{ 4 *  \pi^2  }{G * M  } =  constant

    T^2 = R^3   *  constant

=>  [\frac{T_1}{T_2} ]^2 =  [\frac{R_1}{R_2} ]^3

Here T_1 is the period of Deimos

and  T_1 is the period of  Phobos

So

      [\frac{T_1}{T_2} ] =  [\frac{R_1}{R_2} ]^{\frac{3}{2}}

=>    \frac{T_1}{T_2}  =  [\frac{23500 }{9380} ]^{\frac{3}{2}}]

=>    \frac{T_1}{T_2}  = 3.965

What can affect gravity <br><br> Helpppppp!!!
Anvisha [2.4K]

gravity increases with height. gravity is significantly less on high mountains or tall buildings and increases as we lose height (which is why falling objects speed up) gravity is caused by the Earth spinning. gravity affects things while they are falling but stops when they reach the ground

Kiana is wearing a black shirt and shiny necklace. While she is outside at recess her shirt absorbs the light waves and gets ver
makvit [3.9K]

Answer:

Black bodies are good absorber of light waves from the sun, while shining surfaces are good reflector of the light waves.

Explanation:

Generally, a black surface or material tends to absorb light waves while under the sun, while a shiny surface is a good reflector of the waves. This is because the black material is a good absorber, and also a good emitter.

The shiny necklace can only absorb little light waves from the sun, thus it reflects most of the light waves. The reflection is the reason for the small circles of light seen around the yard.

However, when in a cool environment the black shirt would cools faster (good emitter) than the shiny necklace.

Oriw avauing<br>1. How did Wegener become interested in the idea that continents could move?
alina1380 [7]

Wegener thought that the continents were moving through the earth's crust, like icebreakers plowing through ice sheets, and that centrifugal and tidal forces were responsible for moving the continents.

On top of that, Wegener learned that related species, too small to swim the oceans, were found on different continents, as were similar fossils. ... The year after Wegener died, Arthur Holmes published his idea that thermal convection in the earth's mantle could cause continents to move.
