A unit of area often used in measuring land areas is the hectare, defined as 104 m2. An open-pit coal mine consumes 75 hectares

of land, down to a depth of 26 m, each year. What volume of earth, in cubic kilometers, is removed in this time?

Answer:

0.0195km^{3}

Explanation:

1 hectare = 10^4 m^2

Area of pit, A = 75 hectare

convert hectare into m^2

A = 75 x 10^4 m^2

depth, d = 26 m

Volume of earth removed is V.

V = area of pit x depth

V = A x d

V = 75 x 10^4 x 26 = 1950 x 10^4 m^3

Convert cubic metre into cubic km

1 m = 10^-3 km

1 m^3 = 10^-9 km^3

So,

V = 1950 \times 10^{4} \times 10^{-9}=0.0195km^{3}

Describe the nature of sunlight using the following: wavelength, electromagnetic spectrum, visible light, photons.
kogti [31]

Answer:

due to the effect of gravity begins thermonuclear fusion processes, in these processes energy is released in the form of electromagnetic radiation

Explanation:

The Sun is a star of great size, which due to the effect of gravity begins thermonuclear fusion processes, in these processes energy is released in the form of electromagnetic radiation.

This radiation crosses the different layers of the Sun and escapes from it in the form of light that is emitted throughout the radiation spectrum, due to the temperature reached by the Sun about 5500K the most likely radiation is around 5500 nm corresponding to the green- yellow of the visible spectrum, but the entire spectrum is emitted with different intensity according to Stefan's law

In quantum mechanics this spectrum can also be analyzed as the emission of particles called photons, where each one is characterized by an energy and has a moment equal to zero, the energy of these photons is related to their frequency by the Planck equation

                   E = h f

The distance covered by man is 6.4 m

Explanation:

In the interference of two waves , these will fall upon each other .

It will make nodes and anti-nodes in between . There will be one node in between two anti-nodes and will be one anti-node between two nodes .

The distance between two nodes is λ/2 and distance between two anti-nodes is also λ/2

Thus if the man is at constructive interference , so to move at destructive interference , it has to cover a distance equal to λ/4

Here λ = velocity/frequency = 344/632 = 18.4 m

Thus the distance he will cover = 18.4/4 = 4.6 m
