In a series circuit, the current through each of the components is the same, and the voltage across the circuit is the sum of the voltages across each component. In a parallel circuit, the voltage across each of the components is the same, and the total current is the sum of the currents through each component.

What is an alkali metal with fewer than 10 protons in its nucleus?
Trava [24]

Answer:

            Lithium

Explanation:

                  Alkali metals are group of metals which are present in first group of periodic table. As we know atomic number is equal to number of protons contained by a particular element. Therefore, the alkali metals along with there number of protons are listed below;

Alkali Metal                                         Number of Protons

Lithium                                                               3

Sodium                                                             11

Potassium                                                         19

Rubidium                                                         37

Cesium                                                             55

Francium                                                          87

Hence, it is cleared from above table that Lithium is having fewer protons than 10.

What is the mass of 4.5 moles of nitrogen monoxide
JulijaS [17]

Answer:

135.027

Explanation:

Take the molar mass (from the periodic table) of Nitrogen (14.007) and Oxygen (15.999)

Add them together: 30.006 (this is 1 mole of NO)

30.006x4.5=135.027g

Repulsion is a force or interaction among the atoms in a molecule in which the atoms attract one another.
Anni [7]
Repulsion is a force or interaction among the atoms in a molecule in which the atoms REPEL one another. By the word itself repulsion, meaning to repel, it automatically bans the idea of ATTRACTION. Therefore, the statement above is FALSE. The answer to this question is "B. False".

If 28 mL of 6.2 M H2SO4 was spilled, what is the minimum mass of NaHCO3 that must be added to the spill to neutralize the acid?
Naddika [18.5K]

Answer:

The answer is 30 g of sodium hydrocarbonate

Explanation:

This is a acid-base reaction, so in order to neutralise the spilled acid, the mol of spilled acid should be calculated.

M = n / V => n = M x V = 0.028 x 6.2 = 0.1736 mol

Since 1 mol of sulfuric acid generates 2 mol of H⁺, so the mole of H⁺ is 0.3472 mol or 0.35 mol with two significant figures.

To neutralized the acid, we need at least the same mole of base, so we need at least 0.35 mol of NaHCO₃, which can be converted to its mass at 29.4 g.

Since the answer need to be expressed in two significant figures and also need to make sure to neutralize all the acid, so we will use a little excess base. The answer is 30 g.
