Answer:

$10.08

Explanation:

There are 24 hours in a day.

Now, if we assume that the refrigerator uses the 200 Watts per hour, thus, in one day, it will consume;

200 x 24 = 4800 watts

Thus, in 30 days, it will consume;

4800 x 30 = 144,000 Watts

Now, 1000 watts = 1KW

Thus,144,000 watts = 144,000/1000 = 144 KW

Now, since the power company charges $0.07 per kWh, thus the cost for 144 KW = 144 x 0.07 = $10.08

Positive feedback interactions in earth’s systems are always a result of human action. T/F
VLD [36.1K]

Positive feedback interactions in earth’s systems are always a result of human action is a FALSE statement.

Explanation:

Earth is a unstable equilibrium which tends to move out of equilibrium, but several other factors try to bring it back in equilibrium again. Earth has a different actions going on both on its surface and also inside it.

Human can alter, or can modify a very small part of the events that occur on earth’s surface. But they don’t have any control on what’s going inside earth’s core. So positive feedback interactions are not only the results of human interaction, but also different other factors.

A silver bar 0.125 meter long is subjected to a temperature change from 200°C to 100°C. What will be the length of the bar after
Delicious77 [7]
\Delta L= \alpha L_0 (T_f-T_i)

= (18 x 10^-6 /°C)(0.125 m)(100° C - 200 °C)

= -0.00225 m

New length = L + ΔL
= 1.25 m + (-0.00225 m)
= 1.248

5g of ammonium nitrate was dissolved in 60g of water in an insulated container. The temperature at the start of the reaction was
Minchanka [31]

Answer: The energy absorbed by the reaction from the water is 996 Joules.

Explanation:

Energy absorbed by the reaction or energy lost by the water to the reaction,Q.

Mass of the the reaction ,m = 60 g

Specific heat of water = c = 4.15 J\g ^oC

Change is temperature=\Delta T=19^oC-23^oC=-4^oC

Q=mc\Delta T=60 g\times 4.15 J\g ^oC\times (-4^oC)=-996 Joules

Negative sigh indicates that energy was given by the water to the reaction.

The energy absorbed by the reaction from the water is 996 Joules.
