Use the quations 2L + 2W = Area

and L = 3W -4

Plug the second equation into the first and solve for W

2(3W-4) + 2W = A

6W - 8 + 2W= A

8W - 8 = A

8W = 8

W = 1

Then plug that into the second equation

L = 3(1) -4

L = 3 -4

L = -1

Then plug both of the answers into the first equation

2(-1) + 2(1) = A

-2 + 2 = A

0 = A

That should be the answer, but since there was no given Area, i'm not sure.

I hope this helped though!

5. 3x + 5y + 5z =1<br> x - 2y = 5<br> 2x + 4y = 11
lilavasa [31]

Answer:

see explanation

Step-by-step explanation:

Given the 3 equations

3x + 5y + 5z = 1 → (1)

x - 2y = 5 → (2)

2x + 4y = 11 → (3)

Use (2) and (3) to solve for x and y

Multiply (2) by 2

2x - 4y = 10 → (4)

Add (3) and (4) term by term

4x = 21 ( divide both sides by 4 )

x = \frac{21}{4\\}

Substitute this value of x into (3)

2 × \frac{21}{4\\} + 4y = 11

\frac{21}{2\\} + 4y = 11 ( subtract \frac{21}{2\\} from both sides )

4y = \frac{1}{2} ( divide both sides by 4 )

y = \frac{1}{8\\}

Substitute the values of x and y into (1) and solve for z

3 × \frac{21}{4\\} + 5 × \frac{1}{8\\} + 5z = 1

\frac{63}{4} + \frac{5}{8} + 5z = 1

\frac{131}{8} + 5z = 1 ( subtract \frac{131}{8} from both sides )

5z = - \frac{123}{8} ( divide both sides by 5 )

z = - \frac{123}{40}

Solution is

x = \frac{21}{4\\}, y = \frac{1}{8\\}, z = - \frac{123}{40}

The sum of two numbers is 48.when the smaller number is subtracted from the larger number,the difference is 12. What are the two
Savatey [412]

Answer:

The two numbers are:

30 and 18

Step-by-step explanation:

a + b = 48

a - b = 12

From the first eq.

a = 48 - b

Replacing this last value in the second eq.

(48 - b) - b = 12

48 - 2b = 12

48 - 12 = 2b

36 = 2b

36/2 = b

18 = b

from the first eq.

a + 18 = 48

a = 48 - 18

a = 30

Check:

from the second eq.

a - b = 12

30 - 18 = 12

Does 10,15,20 form a right triangle
sveta [45]
A right triangle can only be formed when you use the 3/4/5 rule.
The 3/4/5 rule is a^2 + b^2 = c^2.

We will use 10 for a, 15 for b, and 20 for c.

a^2 + b^2 = c^2

Plug in 10 for a, 15 for b, and 20 for c.

10^2 + 15^2 = 20^2

10^2 = 100

15^2 = 225

20^2 = 400

100 + 225 = 400
This is not applicable, as 100 + 225 = 325.

Your answer is:

No, 10,15,20 does not form a right triangle.

I hope this helps!
