Let's call the first number x, and the second number y. Putting what you have said into equation form:

x+2y=13
\\\\4x+2y=-2

Subtracting one equation from another gives:

x+2y=13 \\-(4x+2y=-2)

\\\\-3x=15
\\x=-5

If x = -5,

x+2y=13
\\(-5)+2y=13
\\2y=18
\\y=9

So the first number is -2, the second number is 9

Consider the following pair of points.
dedylja [7]

Answer:

The answer is

<h2>\sqrt{265} \: \: or \: \: 16.28 \: \: \: \: units</h2>

Step-by-step explanation:

The distance between two points can be found by using the formula

<h3>d = \sqrt{ ({x1 - x2})^{2} + ({y1 - y2})^{2} } \\</h3>

where

(x1 , y1) and (x2 , y2) are the points

From the question the points are

(9,-8) and (-7,-5)

The distance between them is

d =  \sqrt{ ({9 + 7})^{2}  +  ({ - 8 + 5})^{2} }  \\  =  \sqrt{ {16}^{2} + ( { - 3})^{2}  }  \\  =  \sqrt{256 + 9}  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \\  =  \sqrt{265} \:  \:  \:  \:  \:  \:    \\  = 16.27882

We have the final answer as

\sqrt{265} \: \: or \: \: 16.28 \: \: \: \: units

Hope this helps you

Can someone please help me!?!
poizon [28]

Answer:

-25 and -4

Step-by-step explanation:

to solve this, you need to use the sum product pattern. this means you're going to take the x factor, 29x and separate it into it's squares.

(x^2+25x)+(4x+100)

then you take out the common factor in each separated equation

x(x+25)+4(x+25)

you see that the items in the parentheses are the same, this means that this is one of the equations you will use when factoring. the rest of the equation that is left out (the common factors) is the other equation

(x+25)(x+4)

to get the zeroes, you set each equation equal to zero and solve

x+25=0           x+4=0

x= -25             x= -4

aev [14]

Answer

Find out the  what is her total rental cost .

To prove

As given

Kathey wants to rent a car for 4 days .

she's interested in the collision damage waiver but not the loss damage waiver.

If the daily rate is $39 and the CDW is $40 .

Thus

Total rental cost = 4 × 39 + 40

                           = 156 + 40

                           = $ 196

Therefore the total rental cost is $196.

Option (A) is correct .
