The management of a department store is interested in estimating the difference between the mean credit purchases of customers u

sing the store's credit card versus those customers using a national major credit card. You are given the following information. (Give answers to 2 decimal places) Store's Card Major Credit Card
Sample size 64 49Sample mean $140 $125Population variance $100 $641. A point estimate for the difference between the mean purchases of the users of the two credit cards is:________.2. At 95% confidence, the margin of error is:____________.3. A 95% confidence interval estimate for the difference between the average purchases of the customers using the two different credit cards is___ to ___.

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

1) Point estimate is the difference between the sample means. Therefore,

A point estimate for the difference between the mean purchases of the users of the two credit cards is = 140 - 125 = $15

2) Margin of error = z√(σ²/n1 + σ2²/n2)

Where

z is the z score from the 95% confidence level. From the normal distribution table, z = 1.96

s1 and s2 are standard deviation for both customers respectively.

Standard deviation = √variance

σ1 = √100 = 10

σ2 = √641 = 25.32

Margin of error = 1.96√(10²/64 + 25.32²/49 = 7.5

At 95% confidence, the margin of error is 7.5

3) The confidence interval for the difference of two population means is expressed as point estimate ± margin of error

Confidence interval = 15 ± 7.5

The upper boundary for the confidence interval is

15 - 7.5 = 7.5

The lower boundary for the confidence interval is

15 + 7.5 = 22.5

A 95% confidence interval estimate for the difference between the average purchases of the customers using the two different credit cards is $7.5 to $22.5

4) Since the population standard deviations are known, we would use the formula to determine the test statistic(z score)

z = (x1 - x2)/(√σ1²/n2 + σ2²/n2)

z = (140 - 125)/√10²/64 + 25.32²/49

z = 1.02

The test statistic for an alpha of .05 is 1.02

Suppose you take the small prism and stack it on top of the larger prism. What will be the volume of the composite figure
sergeinik [125]

You didn't provide a picture, but if your problem is like the one in my workbook, I might be able to help.

Find the volume of the first figure, then find the volume of the second figure, then add them together.

V=lwh

V(1)=(15)(12)(6)

= 1,080in^3

V(2)=(12)(6)(6)

= 432in^3

--------------------------------------------

1,080+432= 1,512 in^3

--------------------------------------------

Your answer should be 1,512

7x-6
ArbitrLikvidat [17]

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

7x - 6 = 12 - 2x

9x - 6 = 12

9x = 18

x = 2

7(2) - 6 = 14 - 6 = 8  AB

12 - 2(2) = 12 - 4 = 8 BC

8 + 8 = 16  AC

Which describes a non-uniform probability model? A) heads or tails from a coin flip B) the sum result of rolling two dice C) sel
irga5000 [103]

Answer:

Option B.

Step-by-step explanation:

The non-uniform probability is when the event is not same in the occurring of event.

Option A is uniform because there will be equal chance of getting   head or tail.

Option B is non-uniform because sum can be any number  if we get(3,4) it will be 7 and if we have (2,3) then it will be 5.

Option C is uniform because we have equal number of red and green balls so, selecting a ball from both will be same.

Option D is uniform because chance of 1,2,,3,4,5 or 6 will be equal chance from rolling a die that is 1/6 in all cases.

Therefore, Option B is correct

What is the approximate volume of one refraction cup? What’s its formula ?
Marizza181 [45]

Answer:

Volume = 0.1696 L

The formula is Area of base of refraction cup × Depth of the refraction cup

Step-by-step explanation:

The dimensions of a refraction cup are;

Diameter = 120 mm

Depth = 30 mm

Therefore, volume of the refraction cup = Area of base × Depth

Volume of the refraction cup = (π×120²/4)/2 × 30 = 169646.003 mm³

1 L = 1000000 mm³

Therefore, 169646.003 mm³ = 169646.003/1000000 m³ = 0.1696 L

The formula is Area of base of refraction cup × Depth of the refraction cup.

The number of free song downloads is determined using a ratio when you purchase 40 songs you get 24 free song downloads how many
natka813 [3]
34 because 24 is 6x4 and 40 is 6.5 but you obviously round up so 7x6 so18 free songs is is 6x3 you just take away 6 to your number so 40-6+=34 so 34
