Make sure that the bottom of the fraction are the same number. So multiply 8 by 5 and the top which is 25 and the multipy 4 to 10 which is 40 and 9 times 4 is 36.
1 25/40 + 36/40 = 1 61/40 = 2 21/40

What is 40% of 65 (please have a step by step explanation)
NNADVOKAT [17]

Answer:

25.6

Step-by-step explanation:

To work this out you would first divide 65 by 10, which gives you 6.5. This is because by dividing it by 10 you are working out 10%. Then to work out 40% you would multiply 10% which is 6.5 by 4, which gives you 25.6.

1) Divide 65 by 10.

65/10=6.5

2) Multiply 6.5 by 4.

6.5*4=25.6

At a grocery store, the price of $3$ cans of soup is $\$6.90$ . At this rate, how much would $10$ cans of soup cost?
boyakko [2]

Answer:

23

Step-by-step explanation:

First, you have to divide 10 by 3, which is 3.333... or 3.3. Now you have to multiply that by $6.90. $6.90 x 3.3=22.77. 22.77 rounded to the nearest tenth is 23, so 23 would be your answer. It can aslo be shown as $3 over $6.90, and 10 over <em>x. </em>
