In order to add or subtract fractions, they must have the
same denominator.  You need to change both of these
fractions to have the same denominator ... without changing
their values, of course.

The smallest common denominator for these fractions is  20 .

     3/4  is the same amount as  15/20 .

     3/5  is the same amount as  12/20 .

Now that they have the same denominator, you can do
the subtraction.

First step: Get a common denominator.

3/4:-

3*5=15
4*5=20

3/5:-

3*4=12
5*4=20

Now we can subtract easily because we have common denominators.

15/20-12/20

15-12/20

3/20

Now we have our most simple answer: 3/20

I need help with a problem with solving by square roots in quadratic equation.
Readme [11.4K]

To solve for x, first, we add 3 to the given equation:

\begin{gathered} 2(x+5)^2-3+3=44+3, \\ 2(x+5)^2=47. \end{gathered}

Dividing by 2, we get:

(x+5)^2=\frac{47}{2}.

Therefore:

x+5=\pm\sqrt{\frac{47}{2}}.

Finally, subtracting 5 we get:

x=\pm\sqrt{\frac{47}{2}}-5.

Answer:

x=\operatorname{\pm}\sqrt{\frac{47}{2}}-5.

PLEASE HELP: Find the measure of the angle indicated. Arc BC is 80 degrees.
Marina CMI [18]
The angle is 80 degrees. The measure of an angle is the exact same as the angle measure of the included arc, so that makes angle BAC 80 degrees
