On Tuesday morning, the temperature is -5º F. The temperature rises 3 4 degree each hour for 6 hours before dropping 1 4 degree
Mice21 [21]

Answer:

The temperature in degrees after 9 hours is -1.25 degrees Fahrenheit

Step-by-step explanation:

Here, we want to know the temperature after 9 hours

Per hour rise each hour is 3/4 degree = 0.75 degree

In 6 hours that will be 0.75 * 6 = 4.5 degrees

Or hour drop is 1/4 = 0.25 degree

In 3 hours, that will be 0.25 * 3 = 0.75 degree

Since it is a drop, we have -0.75 degree

Temperature after 9 hours will be;

-5 + 4.5 -0.75

= -5.75 + 4.5 = -1.25 degrees fahrenheit

Which of the following equations represents the graph shown?
melomori [17]

Answer: Last option.

Step-by-step explanation:

The equation of the line in slope-intercept form is:

y=mx+b

Where m is the slope and b the intersection with the y-axis.

You can observe in the graph that the line passes through the origin, then:

b=0

Choose two points of the line and calculate the slope with:

m=\frac{y_2-y_1}{x_2-x_1}

Points: (2,3) and (-2,-3)

Substitute values, then the slope is:

m=\frac{-3-3}{-2-2}=\frac{-6}{-4}=\frac{3}{2}

 Substituting "m" and "b" into  y=mx+b, you get that the equation is:

y=\frac{3}{2}x

This can be written as:

f(x)=\frac{3}{2}x

Shtirlitz [24]

Think of variable K as number of trees planted and variable J as number of minutes it takes to plant the trees.

K = _J + _

For every 4 trees planted it takes 2 minutes to plant them, so we now have -4/2. 4 is negative because we don't have an unlimited amount of trees to plant. With this being said, we can use this fraction as J.

K = -4/2J + _

We lose 4 trees every 2 minutes, but how many trees did we initially start out with? According to the graph, we started with 28 trees, so K = -4/2J + 28.

Now we can test this equation out by picking a random dot on the graph: 24/2.

24 = -4/2(2) + 28

24 = -4 + 28

24 = 24

This statement is correct, so our equation is correct.

Find the missing side. Round to the nearest tenth.<br> a. 3.4<br> b. 36.0<br> c. 38.6<br> d. 41.2
Pie

tan(angle) = opposite/adjacent

tan(17) = 11/x

x*tan(17) = 11  .... multiply both sides by x

x = 11/tan(17) ...... divide both sides by tan(17)

x = 35.9793788 .... use your calculator

x = 36.0
