n+n=2n this is because the gamete is haploid and when 2 gametes fuse the give us a diploid cell where each chromosome become paired .. a pair of chromosome contain 2 chromosomes carrying the instructions for the same traits (colour of eyes.. colour of skin... etc) but the traits are different on each (brown eyes on one and green on the other for example)
