Answer:

The total number of flowers is 680

Step-by-step explanation:

Let

x -----> the number of flowers green

y ----> the number of flowers yellow

z ----> the number of flowers purple

we know that

x=\frac{3}{10}(x+y+z) ----> equation A

The rest is equal to

\frac{7}{10}(x+y+z)

so

y=(\frac{3}{4})\frac{7}{10}(x+y+z)

y=\frac{21}{40}(x+y+z) -----> equation B

z=(\frac{1}{4})\frac{7}{10}(x+y+z)

z=\frac{7}{40}(x+y+z) -----> equation C

Remember that

z=119

substitute in equation C and solve for (x+y+z)

(x+y+z) ----> is the total of flowers

119=\frac{7}{40}(x+y+z)

(x+y+z)=119(40)/7

(x+y+z)=680

<em>Find the value of x</em>

substitute in the equation A

x=\frac{3}{10}(680)=204

<em>Find the value of y</em>

substitute in the equation B

y=\frac{21}{40}(680)=357

therefore

The number of flowers green is 204

The number of flowers yellow is 357

The he number of flowers purple is 119

The total number of flowers is 680

T what point does the curve have maximum curvature? Y = 7ex (x, y) = what happens to the curvature as x → ∞? Κ(x) approaches as
Nookie1986 [14]

Formula for curvature for a well behaved curve y=f(x) is

K(x)= \frac{|{y}''|}{[1+{y}'^2]^\frac{3}{2}}

The given curve is y=7e^{x}

{y}''=7e^{x}\\ {y}'=7e^{x}

k(x)=\frac{7e^{x}}{[{1+(7e^{x})^2}]^\frac{3}{2}}

{k(x)}'=\frac{7(e^x)(1+49e^{2x})(49e^{2x}-\frac{1}{2})}{[1+49e^{2x}]^{3}}

For Maxima or Minima

{k(x)}'=0

7(e^x)(1+49e^{2x})(98e^{2x}-1)=0

→e^{x}=0∨ 1+49e^{2x}=0∨98e^{2x}-1=0

e^{x}=0 , ∧ 1+49e^{2x}=0   [not possible ∵there exists no value of x satisfying these equation]

→98e^{2x}-1=0

Solving this we get

x= -\frac{1}{2}\ln{98}

As you will evaluate {k(x})}''<0 at x=-\frac{1}{2}\ln98

So this is the point of Maxima. we get y=7×1/√98=1/√2

(x,y)=[-\frac{1}{2}\ln98,1/√2]

k(x)=\lim_{x\to\infty } \frac{7e^{x}}{[{1+(7e^{x})^2}]^\frac{3}{2}}

k(x)=\frac{7}{\infty}

k(x)=0

lyudmila [28]

The kids have to wait for 1 hour to get their bags.

<u>Step-by-step explanation:</u>

Given that,

A bus with kids and a truck with their bags started moving from the school to the camp at the same time.

  • The speed of the bus was 60 mph.
  • It took kids 3 hours to reach the camp.

<u>To find the distance traveled by the bus :</u>

⇒ Distance = Speed × Time

⇒ 60 × 3

⇒ 180 m

∴ The distance is 180 m.

<u>To find the time taken by the truck to reach the camp :</u>

  • The speed of the truck was 45 mph.
  • We found the distance as 180 m.

Time taken = distance / speed.

⇒ 180 / 45

⇒ 4 hours.

∴ The time taken by the truck to reach the camp is 4 hours.

<u>To find how long the kids have to wait for their bags :</u>

The time taken by the truck to reach the camp - the time it took for the kids to arrive.

⇒ 4 hours - 3 hours

⇒ 1 hour.

∴ The kids have to wait for 1 hour to get their bags.

How you do this expression
katrin2010 [14]
You are using the distributive property so you will multiply all the numbers in the parentheses by 5. So the end expression would be 30m+20n-15p

Solve the system of linear equations by substitution x-y=-4 2x+y=4
mylen [45]

Answer:

Given:

x-y=-4

2x+y=4

Step-by-step explanation:

x-y=-4

2x+y=4

add both the equation, we get

⇒  x-y=-4

  2x+y=4

⇒3x=-4+4

⇒3x=0

⇒x=0

∴ to find the value of y, put the value of x in any one equation

⇒x-y=-4

⇒0-y=-4

⇒-y=-4

⇒y=4

∴ x=0, y=4
