In Mathematics there are different units that serve to describe quantities and also, in most of them there are common prefixes (letter or syllable before words) that indicate specific numbers. This includes the prefix "centi-" that indicates one hundredth or 1/100; "mili-" that indicates one-thousandth or 1/1000; "hecto-" that also indicates one hundred and "deci-" which indicates one-tenth or 1/10. For example, the word "decimeter" refers to one-tenth of a meter as the prefix "deci-" that means 1/10 is combined with the word "meter" that is another unit. Therefore, the prefix that means 1/10 of a unit is Deci.
