-2 (x+1) = -2x +5
-2x+-2 = -2x+5
+2 +2
-2x=-2x+7
+2x +2x
0=7
At this point, you can see that the solution is unsolvable. Obviously, zero does not equal seven. There are zero solutions to the equation

-2(x + 1) = -2x + 5

mutiply the bracket by -2

(-2)(x)= -2x

(-2)(1)= -2

-2x-2= -2x+5

move -2x to the left side

sign changes from -2x to 2x

-2x+2x-2= -2x+2x+5

0-2= 0-5

-2= -5

1. Find the value of x<br>2. Using complete sentences, describe your
aleksley [76]

Answer:

x = 40

Step-by-step explanation:

The sum of the 3 angles in a triangle = 180°

Consider the triangle on the left and calculate the third angle

Subtract the sum of the 2 angles from 180

third angle = 180° - (75 + 50)° = 180° - 125° = 55°

Consider the triangle on the right

The third angle = 55° ( vertical angles )

Subtract the sum of the 2 angles from 180

x = 180 - (55 + 85) = 180 - 140 = 40

We know that a = b and c = 30

Since b + 30 = 90, we know b = 60.
That means a = 60

a = 60
b = 60
c = 30
