Add 1 1/3 + (−5/6) = ?

Mathematics

1 1/3 = 4/3 (because (3 * 1 + 1) / 3)

We need both parts of sum to have common denominator.
Second part have denominator = 6.
When we multiply nominator and denominator of first part by 2 we get 8/6 (what is legit operation on fractions)

Now easily add:
8/6 + (- 5/6) = 8/6 - 5/6 = 3/6 (here we can divide both nominator and denominator by 3 to get "nicer" result) = 1/2

A lawn mower manufacturer incurs a total of 34,816 in overhead costs and 388 per lawn mower in production costs. How many lawn m
ohaa [14]

Answer:

128 lawn mowers were manufactured.

Step-by-step explanation:

Let's call z the number of manufactured lawn mowers

The general expenses are: $ 34 816

The costs per lawn mower are $388(z)

We know that:

Total cost (c) = Variable cost + fixed cost

So

c = \$388(z) + \$34\ 816

The average cost of production Cp is equal to c/z

So:

Cp = \frac{388(z) + 34816}{z}\\\\Cp = 388 + \frac{34816}{z}

We know that Cp = 660.

Finally:

660 = 388 + \frac{34816}{z}\\\\z = \frac{34816}{272}\\\\z = 128

Which quadratic equation is equivalent to (x + 2)2 + 5(x + 2) – 6 = 0
satela [25.4K]
If we expand that binomial and at the same time distribute the 5 into the set of parenthesis, what we have is this: x^2+4x+4+5x+10-6=0.  Combining like terms we have x^2+9x+8=0.  As far as I can tell, that is the answer you are looking for, although there are no choices.

State the equation of the line in y = mx + b form.
gtnhenbr [62]
Your slope is wrong! Your slope is going to be 3/2, or C for the first problem. Your y intercept is wrong! Your Y- intercept is actually (0, -1.3) or B for the second problem.
Your equation is going to be
y= 3/2x-1.3
