Evaporation is when a liquid turns into a gas .
Sublimation is when a solid directly turns into a gas .

Evaporation is change of state from a liquid form to gas(vapour) DUE TO ESCAPE OF MOLECULES FROM the SURFACE of a liquid while sublimition is change of state from solid to gas and vice versa WITHOUT PASSING THROUGH the liquid phase. I think they are different not similar.

Question 1 of 10
Alina [70]

D. The total number of gas molecules will decrease.

Explanation:

According to Le Chatelier's principle, an increase in pressure in a system involving gases will cause the total number of gas molecules to decrease.

Le Chatelier's principle states that "if any conditions of a system in equilibrium is changed, the system will adjust itself in order to annul the effect of the change".

In a reaction involving gases, a change in pressure affects only reactions in a gaseous phase.

An increase in pressure on an equilibrium system will shift the position of the equilibrium to the side having smaller volume and vice versa.

Calculate the atomic mass of gallium, symbol Ga. Gallium has two isotopes: Ga-69 and Ga-71. The relative abundance of Ga-69 is 6
amm1812

Answer:

The atomic mass of gallium (Ga) = 69.723 g/mol

Explanation:

Given: Two isotopes of Gallium (Ga) are Gallium-69 (⁶⁹Ga) and Gallium-71 (⁷¹Ga)

For ⁶⁹Ga:

Relative abundance = 60.12% = 60.12 ÷ 100 = 0.6012; Atomic mass = 68.9257 g/mol

For ⁷¹Ga:

Relative abundance = 39.88% = 39.88 ÷ 100 = 0.3988; Atomic mass = 70.9249 g/mol

∴ The atomic mass of Ga = (Relative abundance of ⁶⁹Ga × Atomic mass of ⁶⁹Ga) + (Relative abundance of ⁷¹Ga × Atomic mass of ⁷¹Ga)

⇒ Atomic mass of Ga = (0.6012 × 68.9257 g/mol) + (0.3988 × 70.9249 g/mol) = 69.723 g/mol

Therefore, the atomic mass of gallium (Ga) = 69.723 g/mol

calculate the concentration of silver in a 100.0 mL solution of silver bromide at 25oC (298 K) when the Ksp is 5.0 x 10-13
Sliva [168]

Answer:

Concentration AgBr at saturation = 7.07 x 10⁻⁷M

Explanation:

Given AgBr(s) => Ag⁺(aq) + Br⁻(aq) ; Ksp = 5 x 10⁻¹³ = [Ag⁺][Br⁻]

    I       ---                0              0

    C     ---               +x             +x

     E     ---                 x               x

[Ag⁺][Br⁻] = (x)(x) = x² = 5 x 10⁻¹³ => x = SqrRt(5 x 10⁻¹³) = 7.07 x 10⁻⁷M
