Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

If a child is chosen at random, we are picking from all the children, of which there are a total of 20 (it says that at the top). You could also just add up all the numbers in the boxes to see that there are 20 students. There are a total of 8 girls. So the answer to a. What is the probability that the chosen child is a girl is the ratio of girls to total children:

\frac{8}{20}.  But always reduce if you can, so the actual ratio of girls to total students is

\frac{8}{20}=\frac{4}{10}=\frac{2}{5}.  So

a. \frac{2}{5}

Now we want to know, out of girls only, what is the chance we will pick a left-handed girl. Out of the 8 girls total, only 2 of them are left-handed (not too many of us around!). Stating that as a ratio (which is another way to say "fraction"), we have

\frac{2}{8}. But again, reduce if you can, so

b. \frac{1}{4}

Answer:

<h3>          The second:   f(-5) = 2</h3>

Step-by-step explanation:

x = -5

-5 < -4  and if x<-4 then  f(x) = - 2x - 8

so:

    f(-5) = - 2(-5) - 8 = 10 - 8 = 2

Bruce has a bottle that contains 60% of lemon juice and the rest water. The bottle has 1 liter of water. PART A: Write an equati
Lelechka [254]
Part A:
there is 60% of lemon juice in a 1 liter of water
so 60% *OF* the 1 liter
( of technically means * in mathematics)
so
60% * 1 liter
or 0.6 * 1 liter
Now to find the total number of liters of lemon juice and water in the bottle
(0.6*1)+x= 1
(x being the amount of water)

Part B: We can calculate the number of liters of lemon juice that are present in the bottle
60% * 1
0.6 * 1
that is 0.6
So there is 0.6 liters of lemon juice in the bottle

Hope this helps :)

<h3>              aₙ = 8n + 27</h3>

Step-by-step explanation:

a_1=35\\d=8\\\\a_n=a_1+d(n-1)\\\\a_n=35+8(n-1)\\a_n=35+8n-8\\a_n=8n+27
