Answer:

7200 Joules

Explanation:

Also joules means the SI unit of work or energy, equal to the work done by a force of one newton when its point of application moves one meter in the direction of action of the force, equivalent to one 3600th of a watt-hour.

In a lab, four balls have the same velocities but different masses.
olya-2409 [2.1K]

Answer:

New Momentum of Ball B=13.2 \frac{\mathrm{kgm}}{\mathrm{s}}

<u>Explanation:</u>

Given:

Mass of Ball A=1kg

Mass of Ball B= 2kg

Mass of Ball C=5kg

Mass of Ball D=7kg

Velocities of A=B=C=D=2.2\frac{m}{s}

Momentum of Ball A=2.2\frac{k g m}{s}

Momentum of Ball B=4.4 \frac{k g m}{s}

Momentum of Ball C=11\frac{k g m}{s}

Momentum of Ball D=15\frac{k g m}{s}

To Find:

Change in Momentum When of Ball B gets tripled

Solution:

Though all balls have same velocity, thus we get

Velocities of A=B=C=D=2.2\frac{m}{s}

Initial Momentum of Ball B=4.4\frac{k g m}{s}

If the Mass of Ball B gets tripled;

We get New Mass of Ball B=3×Actual Mass of the ball

                                            =3×2=6kg

Thus we get Mass of Ball B=6kg

According to the formula,

Change in momentum of Ball B \Delta p=m \times \Delta v

Where \Delta p=change in momentum

          m=mass of the ball B

         \Delta v=change in velocity ball B

And \Delta v=v, since all balls, have same velocity

Thus the above equation, changes to

         \Delta p=m \times v

Substitute all the values in the above equation we get

         \Delta p=6 \times 2.2

                     =13.2 \frac{\mathrm{kgm}}{\mathrm{s}}

Result:

 Thus the New Momentum of ball B=13.2 \frac{\mathrm{kgm}}{\mathrm{s}}

Snorkelers breathe through tubes that extend above the surface of the water. In prin- ciple, a snorkeler could go deeper with a
Yanka [14]

Answer:

h = 1.02 m

Explanation:

This is a fluid mechanics exercise, where the pressure is given by

       P = P_{atm} + ρ g h

The gauge pressure is

      P - P_{atm}  = ρ g h

In this case the upper part of the tube we have the atmospheric pressure. and the diver can exert a pressure 10 KPa below the outside pressure, this must be the gauge pressure

     P_{m} =    P - P_{atm}

     P_{m} = ρ g h

     h =P_{m} / ρ g

calculate

     h = 10 103 / (1000 9.8)

     h = 1.02 m

This is the depth at which man can breathe

We use a battery to cause a continuous potential difference by getting charges to separate. Explain why the terminals of a batte
QveST [7]

Answer:

To create an electric potential difference between the ends of the conductor.

Explanation:

For current to flow, there must exist an electric potential difference between the ends of the conductor. This PD is provided by the electromotive force stored within the battery. Unless there is a connection between the terminals no PD will exist between the terminals.

On sunday a strong gale blows near beth’s house. the best estimate for the wind speed is ____ miles/hour.
Rufina [12.5K]

Answer:

B. 47-54 miles/hour

Explanation:

Gale is a strong wind which is depicted by red warning flag. According to U.S. National Weather Service gale is a sustained surface wind. It is also used to refer winds from tropical coastal areas.

On the basis of force of wind gale is divided in four groups:

  1. Near gale   - 32-38 mph
  2. Gale            - 39-46 mph
  3. Strong gale - 47-54 mph
  4. Storm           - 55-63 mph

Avery likes to walk 30 feet in 10<br>seconds. What is her speed?
Sliva [168]

Answer:

If she is walking 30 feet every 10 seconds, that means she is walking 180 feet per minute. Multiply that by the 60 minutes in an hour, means she walks (180x60)= 10,800 feet an hour.

She walks 3 feet a second.

She walks 180 feet a minute.

She walks 10,800 feet an hour.
