Use the equation below to determine how many grams of CO are needed to react with an excess of Fe2O3 to produce 104.9 g Fe? You

must show all of your work to receive credit.
Molar Mass Information:
Fe= 55.85 g/mol
C= 12.01 g/mol
O= 15.99 g/mol

Answer:

78.89g

Explanation:

3CO+Fe2O3=2fe+3CO2 from the equation. 3moles of CO produced 2moles of Fe thus. Molar mass of CO=28 and Fe=55.85. Going by the formulae n= mass/molar mass. Mass of each will be n× molar mass. Thus. 28×3=84. 55.85×2=111.7. Thus,111.7g was produced by 84g of CO. Then 104.9g of Fe will be produced by 84/111.7×104.9=78.89g

UkoKoshka [18]

Answer:

2-pentanone

Explanation:

The oxygen atom is attached to the 2nd carbon atom in the longest linear chain, thus the prefix 2. the longest continuous carbon chain has five carbon atoms giving it the prefix pent-. the chemical is a ketone thus the suffix none.

Calculate the enthalpy of the reaction 4B(s)+3O2(g)→2B2O3(s) given the following pertinent information: B2O3(s)+3H2O(g)→3O2(g)+B
Ivenika [448]

Answer:

-2546 kJ

Explanation:

It is possible to obtain the enthalpy of a reaction from the sum of different intermediate reactions.

For the reaction:

4B(s) + 3O₂(g) → 2B₂O₃(s)

The intermediate reactions are:

A- B₂O₃(s) + 3H₂O(g) → 3O₂(g) + B₂H₆(g), ΔH°A= +2035 kJ

B- 2B(s) + 3H₂(g) → B₂H₆(g), ΔH°B= +36 kJ

C- H₂(g) + 1/2O₂(g) → H₂O(l), ΔH°C= -285 kJ

D- H₂O(l) → H₂O(g), ΔH°D= +44 kJ

2B = 4B(s) + 6H₂(g) → 2B₂H₆(g) ΔH°2B= +78 kJ

-2A = 6O₂(g) + 2B₂H₆(g) → 2B₂O₃(s) + 6H₂O(g) ΔH°-2A= -4070 kJ

-6C = 6H₂O(l) → 6H₂(g) + 3O₂(g) ΔH°-6C= +1710 kJ

-6D = 6H₂O(g) → 6H₂O(l) ΔH°-6D = -264 kJ

The sum of 2B - 2A - 6C - 6D produce:

4B(s) + 3O₂(g) → 2B₂O₃(s)

And the enthalpy is: ΔH°2B + ΔH°-2A + ΔH°-6C + ΔH°-6D = <em>-2546 kJ</em>

I hope it helps!

A reaction between liquid reactants takes place at −10.0°C in a sealed, evacuated vessel with a measured volume of 45.0L. Measur
maks197457 [2]

Answer: 0.0624 atm

Explanation:-

According to the ideal gas equation:

PV=nRT

P = Pressure of the gas = ?

V= Volume of the gas = 45.0 L

T= Temperature of the gas = -10.0°C = 263 K    0^00C=273K

R= Gas constant = 0.0821 atmL/K mol

n= moles of gas

Moles of gas=\frac{\text{ given mass}}{\text{ molar mass}}= \frac{19.0g}{146g/mole}=0.130moles

P=\frac{nRT}{V}=\frac{0.130\times 0.0821\times 263}{45.0}=0.0624atm

The pressure of sulfur hexafluoride gas in the reaction vessel after the reaction is 0.0624 atm

In Earth's water cycle, evaporation takes place as solid ice and snow are converted to water vapor. true or false?
valentinak56 [21]
This is true, vapor is just evaporated water. Like in machines, you have to fill it up with water so your machine can produce the water vapor. Hope this helps!!
