She can get 3 cans of paint and 3 throw pillows because 200 divided by 32 = 6.25 (or six) 200 divided by 30 = 6.6 (six) so cut them in half and she can get 3 throw pillows and 3 paint cans

Given f(x)=2x^2+9x+k, and the remainder when f(x) is divided x+7 is 32, then what is the value of k?
sweet-ann [11.9K]

Set up either long division or synthetic div.  I'd do the latter.

Your divisor for synth. div. should be -7.

                           __________
Then              -7 /  2      9      k
                                    -14   +35
                          --------------------
                             2      -5      k+35                 Rem is 32;
                                                                     Let 32 = k + 5 and solve for k:

                                                                           k = -3.

Let's check that.  Is k correct?

Then              -7 /  2      9      -3
                                    -14   +35
                          --------------------
                             2      -5      -3+35  = 32

Since the rem is 32, we are correct; k = -3.

Find the value of the test statistic z using z = .
RUDIKE [14]

Answer:

\sf z = -16.35

formula:

\sf z = \dfrac{s-p}{\sqrt{\dfrac{p(1-p)}{n} } }

Here s = 0.3, p = 0.5, n = 1671

solve:

\rightarrow \sf z = \dfrac{0.30-0.5}{\sqrt{\dfrac{0.5(1-0.5)}{1671} } }

\rightarrow \sf z = \dfrac{-0.2}{\sqrt{\dfrac{0.25}{1671} } }

\rightarrow \sf z = -16.35
