Answer:

There are 7 coins of quarters , 12 coins of dimes and 16 coins of nickels .

Step-by-step explanation:

Mukul has $3.75

1 dollar = 100 cents

3.75 dollar = 375 cents

Let he has x coins of quarters

Since we are given that he has five more dimes than quarters.

So, Dimes = x+5

Since we are given that he has nine more nickels than quarters .

So, nickels = x+9

Now 1 quarter = 25 cents

So, x quarter = 25 x cents

1 dime = 10 cents

So, (x+5) dimes = 10(x+5) cents

1 nickel = 5 cents

So, (x+9) nickels = 5(x+9) cents.

Since he had 375 cents in total .

\Rightarrow 25 x+ 10(x+5) +5(x+9)=375

\Rightarrow 25 x+ 10x+50 +5x+45=375

\Rightarrow 40 x+95=375

\Rightarrow 40 x=375-95

\Rightarrow 40 x=280

\Rightarrow x=\frac{280}{40}

\Rightarrow x=7

Thus there are 7 coins of quarters

Coins of dimes = x+5=7+5=12

Coins of nickels = x+9=7+9 =16

Hence there are 7 coins of quarters , 12 coins of dimes and 16 coins of nickels .

the length of a new rectangle playing field is 6 yards longer than quadruple the width. if the perimeter of the rectangle plaing
Vika [28.1K]

The length and width of a new rectangle playing field are 214 yards and 52 yards respectively.

<h3>What is the area of the rectangle?</h3>

It is defined as the area occupied by the rectangle in two-dimensional planner geometry.

The area of a rectangle can be calculated using the following formula:

Rectangle area = length x width

We have:

The length of a new rectangle playing field is 6 yards longer than quadruple the width.

Let's suppose the length is l and width is w of a rectangle:

From the problem:

l = 6 + 4w

Perimeter P = 2(l + w)

532 = 2(l + w)

Plug l = 6+4w in the above equation:

532 = 2(6 + 4w + w)

266 = 6 + 5w

260 = 5w

w = 52 yards

l = 6 +4(52) = 214 yards

Thus, the length and width of a new rectangle playing field are 214 yards and 52 yards respectively.

Match each set of vertices with the type of triangle they form.
Andrew [12]

Answer:  The calculations are done below.

Step-by-step explanation:

(i) Let the vertices be A(2,0), B(3,2) and C(5,1). Then,

AB=\sqrt{(2-3)^2+(0-2)^2}=\sqrt{5},\\\\BC=\sqrt{(3-5)^2+(2-1)^2}=\sqrt{5},\\\\CA=\sqrt{(5-2)^2+(1-0)^2}=\sqrt{10}.

Since, AB = BC and AB² + BC² = CA², so triangle ABC here will be an isosceles right-angled triangle.

(ii) Let the vertices be A(4,2), B(6,2) and C(5,3.73). Then,

AB=\sqrt{(4-6)^2+(2-2)^2}=\sqrt{4}=2,\\\\BC=\sqrt{(6-5)^2+(2-3.73)^2}=\sqrt{14.3729},\\\\CA=\sqrt{(5-4)^2+(3.73-2)^2}=\sqrt{14.3729}.

Since, BC = CA, so the triangle ABC will be an isosceles triangle.

(iii) Let the vertices be A(-5,2), B(-4,4) and C(-2,2). Then,

AB=\sqrt{(-5+4)^2+(2-4)^2}=\sqrt{5},\\\\BC=\sqrt{(-4+2)^2+(4-2)^2}=\sqrt{8},\\\\CA=\sqrt{(-2+5)^2+(2-2)^2}=\sqrt{9}.

Since, AB ≠ BC ≠ CA, so this will be an acute scalene triangle, because all the angles are acute.

(iv) Let the vertices be A(-3,1), B(-3,4) and C(-1,1). Then,

AB=\sqrt{(-3+3)^2+(1-4)^2}=\sqrt{9}=3,\\\\BC=\sqrt{(-3+1)^2+(4-1)^2}=\sqrt{13},\\\\CA=\sqrt{(-1+3)^2+(1-1)^2}=\sqrt 4.

Since AB² + CA² = BC², so this will be a right angled triangle.

(v) Let the vertices be A(-4,2), B(-2,4) and C(-1,4). Then,

AB=\sqrt{(-4+2)^2+(2-4)^2}=\sqrt{8},\\\\BC=\sqrt{(-2+1)^2+(4-4)^2}=\sqrt{1}=1,\\\\CA=\sqrt{(-1+4)^2+(4-2)^2}=\sqrt{13}.

Since AB ≠ BC ≠ CA, and so this will be an obtuse scalene triangle, because one angle that is opposite to CA will be obtuse.

Thus, the match is done.
